A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Toyosi Olusanya has signed a two year contract with Middlesbrough. The 23 year old striker/winger, scored 8 goals in 4 pre-season friendlies for Billericay. Incredible that we can miss him from right under our nose, but a club the other end of the country can spot and sign him.
My mate Adam Flint signed him for bishops Stortford when he was manager and saw big potential. Flinty knows non league so well, he scouted and brought in some quality players for maldon and Tiptree and they ****ed the league twice, but covid tripped them up. Plus they had great cup runs. We should look to getting a scout of his quality, someone who knows essex non league football inside out.

Some good, sensible punditry on the BT show, maybe ANG and SM will be moving on in a few games if sides around recognise they have a need for players with the positive qualities that both have AND believe they may be keen to make a good impact elsewhere?

And if we gat some more points we may be more of an attractive club to any PB targets who are unsure?

Judging by Dalby's performance against Kings Lynn and his budding partnership with Murphy, PB should be in no hurry to pursue the striker "that will raise eyebrows".

Dalby's physical strength and skill and Murphy's awareness and poaching ability looks like a really good combination.

Especially as we have Dennis, Kargbo and Rush to step in for them. Why waste the money when those two are very good and the support isn’t too shabby either.

Yeah this. Especially if it’s who has been talked about. I think there’s enough there and if we get injuries there’s the loan system. Team spirit is good, let’s not rock the boat now.

How do you know we missed him? He went to a much bigger and more attractive club, he wouldn't have joined us regardless.

Exactly. What if one of Murphy or Dalby gets injured and is out for say 2 months or more? Yes we have Rushy but for all his promise he remains unproven as a goal scorer in the first XI. For me we definitely need another proven first-team-ready striker - preferably a 6 footer.

Very true and possibly the best argument against the ‘treatment’ afforded to Akinola.

If Murphy or Dalby get injured for 2+ months then surely we’d just replace them at that time with there being no transfer window?

We also have Kargbo and Dennis as back up, not just Rush.

The flip side of that. We push our budget to the limit with Mr eyebrows and the other strikers stay fit. PB has a real hard time incorporating them all.

We lose a player in another area and don't have the budget to bring someone in.
