A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

Inih Effiong could be a striker we look at. 6ft4, 30 years of age. Plethora of non-league experience

- 39 goals in 68 games at Southern Premier

- 8 goals in 28 at Woking

- 25 goals in 80 at Dover

They are the stats that stand out, earned him a move to Stevenage this season where it didn't quite fall for him. Loaned back into the national
Think I read somewhere we were Watching some tall Solihull centre forward, not sure where I read that but think his surname was Huglin or similar

Kyle Hudlin. We can forget that one. He would command a fee and there are plenty of bigger fish than us chasing his signature. Perhaps one Stan may of been able to help with, if Ron had of given him a proper role.

Indeed. The person that would end up making the approach on the club's behalf would be laughed out of the room.

Two of my favourite ever players. If he’s 10% as good he needs snapping up.

I’m too youthful and good looking to have seen Cadette play, but I would say that JMD is approximately 2.7% as good as Ricky Otto. Lovely crosser of the ball and relatively two-footed, but no physical attributes and no desire to work hard. Could have a career in League Two if he wants it, but he’d rather not mess up his hair. To compare him to the genius of Otto is an insult.

Cheers for clearing that one up ?

Not sure a fee is the issue if league clubs are interested.

We will never know of Stan would have been able to help sadly. But lets hope we have some good targets lined up

Exhibit A

Club asked me about Hudlin on Friday.

I had his agent details ( DJ Campbell) within 5 minutes.

I'd received a full personality and playing profile from his coach at Solihull United and University College Birmingham and 2 recruitment analysts who gave me their view ( plus two alternative strikers passed on to the club)

I had a brief DM exchange with the player saying I was a big fan of how he's gone from grassroots football to 8 goals in the National League. I also told his former coach I didn't want to call him directly ( I was immediately given his number) as it would be inappropriate but I'd send a DM giving him a "well done, stay in touch" message which he really appreciated.

I knew his salary, contract terms, the lot.

All within 1 hour of the club asking "what do you know".

DJ Campbell text me this morning and I told him that I'd like to stay in touch, which we both agreed.

There's zero chance he'll go to Southend simply because there are way bigger and better run clubs who are sniffing around.

But to everyone reading this, every smart arse who seems to know my abilities abd contacts so well, I'll ask you one question.

On the back of the above, all facts, tell me again that I couldn't get a kid like this to at least hear us out rather than glorified nobody's being fobbed off on the phone.

If Forest, Villa, Leicester, Bradford, Palace all ask me my thoughts on Hudlin and his representation, they'll get a thumbs up from me. And that is called currency, it's called credibility, it's called profile.

But hey, what do I know eh?

Oh Ron, what have you done.....you have lost what could be a priceless asset in Stan.

Would appear you are a bit peed off there Stan but you don't have to justify and react those completely bashing you won't change their mind. Maybe you should channel this constructively to Ron and PB, yes I know they are both irritating but for the good of the club your assistance would be good and for the fans which are the most important thing, right?

Bravo Ron, bravo. If all this is true Stan.. and I have no reason to disbelieve you whatsoever, it angers me that Ron has ultimately chosen not to have this level of connection at the club.

Perhaps Ron thought we, as a fan base were just going to back off and keep quite after the handful of feel good stories involving yourself and getting PB signed so quickly.. well I think he is wrong. If nothing really changes, I for one am doubtful that they will.. the first home game when we are allowed back in to the ground will be rather toxic towards him I'd imagine.

For the record Stan I want doubting you just saying we would never know what the situation would be. If you were involved with the club would that give us an advantage over the bigger clubs?
