A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

I see your point, but if theres a player in the squad scoring goals ahead of dalby i dont really care about his development ?
You need to read the article in the Sunday Times today about Brentford - one of those teams we used to play regularly - and their philosophy of player development - the next level up to Peterborough and a long term strategy.

Benrahma, Maupay, Watkins and Toney. It‘s what gives them financial stability.

There was a saying points win prizes .Well in football goals normaly win titles .Not always i grant you but it a 20 man striker that keeps you near the top .Have we got such a man in this squad .

Dalby has potential to be a real player and must be getting lots of game time. To bring someone in far older and past it to push him to the bench would be massively unfair and also a ridiculous financial move.

Yuo should care about his developement , He developes as is hoped ,there could be a very good sell on for the club eventually andin the meantime he could be doing what Vardy did for the NL club he was with and score a hatful of goals for us and help us get out of this league .
Of course i care, i was just being facetious.

Priority for me is to get out of bloody non league, and i dont care who scores as long as someone does, last thing we need is another acquah who "might come good one day".

Yes its a very good model and be great to see it here. Sadly i think with this owner thats unlikely to happen.

The last thing we need is yet another young player targeted after one or two games, only to see him do a lot better elsewhere.

After all its one of the main reasons we are in the NL in the first place.

Yes but this discussion came about from potentially getting a proven goalscorer which may see dalby on the bench. I dont care who scores, as long as someone does!

Nice thought but in reality I think the best you can hope for is another target man rather than proven goal scorer. We have not got the money for that and its likely to be an on loan not proven young PL/Championship lad.

Im sure like most on here, if that was the case you would rather see Dalby given a run of games. ?

I'd be lying if I said I weren't a little worried, even with two weeks to go before the first game. The squad for me is a huge concern and I think we're in danger of going in to the first game a little under cooked. It's also seemed to have gone very quite on the transfer front which is a worry.

If we’re gonna be only bringing in one or two loan signings which are most likely to be Kargbo and Dennis then I can’t see a chance of us really challenging for promotion or the play offs, will most likely be a mid table finish if we are lucky.

So The Football League (TFL) has started without us.

I wonder what that means for Conference teams in terms of players being "released" either for loans or players realising that they may have to drop a division (or two) to get a club & games?

Maybe not, in fact there was only one player in the whole of the National League last season that reached or in fact scored more than 20 goals.
