A Bit of Fun Transfer Rumours Thread (Potential New Signings)

I’m quite sure the player was or is John Akinde …
Might be- but he turned us down Jan for allegedly a wage way bigger than we would now be able to offer 6 months later. So would require Gillingham to pay him off or fund part of his wages, and it would be a 1 year contract as unless we are back in L2 next year can't see us picking up the full tab..

Let's see...

Yep i agree but I’m not getting told it’s not him… and I normally would do when asking!! It sort of gives it away don’t it ?

Season long loan for Akinde with both clubs paying 50% of his wages would be decent deal...... with Tom gills connection will no doubt come in handy, but would Akinde be prepared to drop to national league. I'm not so sure.

Depends if he is even going to play regularly for the Gills. He would undoubtedly be the main focus of attack for us.

Shame, I would’ve liked him then and now. Seems like he rates himself higher than he actually is. Probably for the best we don’t sign him as I expect he would command silly wages and we don’t want to get back into that usual rut we get ourselves into.

Seems like Akinde may have rejected whatever proposal we put on the table....at least for now.

I didn't glean that from the article. Although posted today, the article contains quotes from Evans from Saturday. If it was Akinde that PB was meeting yesterday then things might have already changed.
