Isn't that basically every signing we make? Unless they grew up near Southend or have played for us before they aren't coming because they love the club, they're coming because we had the most attractive offer.

Agree, you can't hold JS up as a recruitment geru then question his instinct for a player. If he feels is the right type for us and arguably more importantly we are right for him then a bit of faith is required. I know he or more likely his advisors blew us out at the 11th hour last time but who really knows what went on with the Rat overseeing things?

Well one thing is for sure if I had to rely on who we think is a good player, or who John & Kev think is a good player I know where my money is going. And it took a nano second to decide.

By all accounts Ron sank the deal last time so we can ignore that. Will be sensible wages and I thought the whole point was unearthing rough diamonds and giving them a polish. And after the two years at daggers he may be somewhat motivated..
