Well now the Cardwell deal is confirmed, so we know the money is incoming in due course and not in one lump obviously, perhaps we will announce something tonight, being able to budget against it. Geez, I hope so.

Dagenham might not have even been in for him. You don't think they've been monitoring him all summer? He tore it up for them last year. They offered him a deal and wanted more money. He went on trial to Exeter instead and it didn't work out.

Don't take the bait from a cheap tweet insinuating that another club is going to sign a player because of a tweet a fan account has posted. Football doesn't work like that.

All I'll say is the same person then posted an article about Southend being interested in a certain Luton Town striker. Clubs do their own scouting and Those words are banned on players. He's been a known free agent all summer.

Anyway, as far as I know and like I said earlier the deal moved closer with him training today. It's moved even closer as I understand it.

I was generally joking . I appreciate your knowledge and updates as well as us others .
 
Fingers crossed he has something. Signing him, with a very unproven record for a whole season loan absolutely stinks of desperation, which I think could have been avoided - but hopefully more longer term targets are still in the pipeline.

Easy when you've got a genuinely rich owner happy to plough money in, offer potential new signings more money than any other club in the NL can (and probably more money theyve ever earned in their lives), and absorb big losses, isn't it?
