It is not about gate receipts anymore. It is all about generating off-field income. The Hive is used every single day, they have a Starbucks amongst other things. Barnet also have 7 figures of sell-on fees from the past two years alone. Their budget is amongst the best in this league.

As I've mentioned numerous times on here. Barnet have multiple plastic pitches that are hired out and in near constant use. They also have 2 function suites that are hired out for weddings and other parties and both are used multiple times a week. My wife and I looked into hiring one for a party and couldn't afford it. IIRC, by the time they added on their extras, it would have cost around £10,000. The other suite was cheaper, around £7-8000.
