Nat League rules ?!

EMBARGO

Embargo means a ban on a Club signing, re-signing, exercising an option to sign, extending a contract, converting a loan into a permanent transfer, converting a short term loan into a long term loan, loaning or seeking in any way to register a player whether on a contractual or non-contractual basis or as an amateur, trainee, academy, work experience or schoolboy associate other than within any of the Embargo Terms and Exemptions herein after contained.

Embargoed

Club means any Club subject to an Embargo An embargo may be imposed pursuant to any of the relevant preceding or subsequent Rules and Regulations or Appendices but in any event shall be imposed:

-(a) where a Club has undergone an Insolvency Event

(b) where a Club has been served with a winding-up petition which has not been satisfied in full or to the satisfaction of the petitioning creditors as evidenced by written agreement

or (c) where a Club has either defaulted on such an agreement or has omitted or incorrectly reported its failure to adhere to the terms of any agreement.

Any embargo is without prejudice to any other penalties that the Competition may wish or be entitled to impose pursuant to any other Rule or Regulation or Appendix in relation to any matter giving rise to the right to impose an embargo including but not limited to any default, or any agreement reached with creditors or failure to report the default or incorrectly reporting the Club’s adherence to any agreement with creditors.
 
Reading that then under b) we are under an embargo now ? We have been served a winding up order ?… or is it just if we don’t sort that out by the day ? A bit ambiguous… a bit worrying…
 
I think their rules (drafted by an aspiring contract lawyer on work experience) are intended to be as wide ranging as possible to allow then to do what they want unhindered. I think what they actually do is apply embargoes for football and HMRC related debts/events.

Hence it will be no surprise that current embargoes in place are:

23 February 2024 - Farsley Celtic FC - Non-compliance with League Financial Regulations.

15 March 2024 - Torquay United FC - Insolvency Event (Administration)
 
With the takeover not looking good at the moment and a visit to the high court again next week will we be signing players before the future is certain? Ron And the Council are still looking far apart

Statistically, we were one of the best teams for chances created last season.

That’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

Some will argue that from those chances, not enough were “clear cut” chances, but if you’re missing open goals, hitting the woodwork & failing to trouble the keeper when you’re 1-on-1, then it doesn’t matter how many chances you create.
