I heard arsenal are sniffing around Collin which would explain his comments the other week.

Also why would Kev go to a club who have an American owner (notoriously bad owners from this region) and who are quickly becoming the League 2 Watford for sacking managers. He could go there and be sacked in 6 months so job security there is not guaranteed at all.

They got our former gk coach there too so he knows him well be a shame to lose Collin if he does go for sure .

Mahers going nowhere, especially to a crap club like gillingham ffs.

Just lazy journalism putting two
and two together and making five it really is🤫🤫🤫

I wouldn’t say it’s lazy journalism, they are interested. Last time around they held talks with Kev.

I don’t see Kev joining them. I was more concerned last time around then I am this time.

If he went to Arsenal it would be good to have him on loan for the season but I suspect he'd go to a League One or League Two team.

500k ,40% sell on clause and a season loan are the terms i hope we ask ,only touble is even if they agreed would the money go to the club or RMs pocket.

There's no such thing as lazy journalism any more. All the journalists I know work about 3 unpaid hours per day for less than £30k per year.

The public want all their news for free. You get what you pay for.

Ollie Pearce again impressive for Worthing. Scored a lovely goal and assisted two others. Hold up play is good, would offer something different that we don’t have at present. But I guess would be a gamble especially with Waldron coming from the same level

Maybe but we have a better chance of getting him now. Better stats than Waldron. But depends which direction Kev & co want to go, I guess.

We have zero chance of getting that.
In my opinion, if he continues to play like he does he is easily championship level, if not prem level.

With a contract extension he has to be worth £200k plus an add on. We would be better selling him to a league one club where he makes the first team and them cream off the sell on clause when he goes for £2m in the future

I think he has the potential to better what Bentley has achieved.

He is a very good talent that is improving all the time.

I guess i just dont see it.

Colins been great and has a bright future, but premier league? I think people are getting a touch carried away.
He's played over 50 games as a goalkeeper aged 20 and shown all of the right qualities that many good goalkeepers will never have - composure and comfortable dealing with both crosses and backpasses. He has no clear gaps in his skillset.

That's exactly the sort of player PL clubs will take a cheap punt on, as he can go into their U21s or on loan through the leagues to see how good he really can be.

Nobody is suggesting he plays in the PL any time soon.

Yes i get that.

I can also see why moneybags clubs would have a punt on him.

I hope he stays for one more season and gets a promotion under his belt. Seems like lots of young keepers get snapped up and sit on the bench and get loaned out, not really seeing much success.

I just dont see it long term. But good luck to him.

I'll be amazed if Kev went anywhere at all. He has spent a huge chunk of last season not being paid, battling against all odds just so that he can be in the position he is currently (nearly) in... i.e, head coach of a properly funded club under new ownership, a proper pre-season with everyone to a man behind him and the team and with Ron out of the picture.

Everything has pretty much been a free hit so far and that will continue for some time. This management team and squad have built up so much credit for what they have done for this club that they will have a lot longer to get it right before the crowd start turning.

None of them would get that at another club.

Plus, they have done what they have done for love, not money, and to leave in favour of another team in the EFL would make zero sense. Far better to get us back into the EFL and up where we belong in L1, then their stock will be huge and as disappointed as I would be, I would absolutely wish them well and would thank them for their commitment. Everything they would get at that point would be richly deserved.

Why wouldn't Kev consider Gills? If his budget is to be cut with us next season we certainly wont be signing some of the stars suggested on this thread. Or released Wrexham players while we are at it.

Has more of a chance of promotion with a decent budget at Gills than he will with us. Promotion to L1 would open the door to one of the bigger boys in the L1 or even a Championship club

As for loyalty.......In the modern world your only 3 loses away from some fans wanting you gone. Just a few months ago it happened on here. The Cowleys took their opportunities and are now in much more secure financial position than Kev.
