Thank you!

Fwiw, I don’t think that he can’t, or won’t press. But if he does, it will be interesting to see if this increase in workload will reduce the number of minutes that he can play, and subsequently the amount of goals he can score.

It may be that we go with two more athletic strikers against the sides where our press will need to be more effective (Gateshead, Rochdale and Barnet, for example).

But yeah I agree with you, really. If he scores enough goals so that there’s a net positive in terms of his goal return and lack of pressing intensity (and he should do, considering the amount of chances we create), then it’s still very worth it. Especially so, when we consider that up-front is the area where we need to improve the most urgently.

As I say, don’t think it’s enough to make me think we shouldn’t bring him in, but enough to have to think about things.

Centre forward is definitely an area we will be addressing in the summer. We are looking at two as an absolute minimum in that area of the pitch.

I’ve heard a couple of numbers about players Kev wants. Personally, I feel like we just need to tweak things slightly. We would have finished in the play-offs with this group bar our points deduction, and forgetting all the other nonsense, so that shows we aren’t a million miles away.

Obviously, any departing players will need to be replaced, and maybe a bit of bolstering due to being able to name 7 subs and bringing 5 on, but we don’t need a huge rebuild.

I could see maybe one other “star” name alongside McCallum, and when I say “star” I mean a well known name at this level, not a “wow” signing. A smuttering of John Still’s rough diamonds too.

Yeah the recruitment formula...limited as it has been is clear. We have recruited fantastically well, evidenced by players performing brilliantly despite not being paid and transfer embargo etc.
We are literally 3 or 4 players from completion of a promotion worthy squad, departures pending will only hurt us if best players sold. Interesting to see if any are sold.

I don’t believe the plan is to sell anyone, but everyone has a price.

No bids have been received for any of our players yet, but the season hasn’t finished for most yet. I can see bids coming in, but whether they reach our valuations of the players I don’t know.

Looking forward to hearing who would be your top pick as a forward who can press @ShrimperStats. I'd guess Waldron would have been high if we hadn't already picked him up, as he topped your list a few months back.

Unless the money offered is too good to turn down or the player in questions pushes hard to leave, I cant see the consortium wanting to sell anyone.

The biggest loss for me would be Colin who has improved so much that he is easily league standard now and possibly championship standard if he continues to gain experience. I would say he is potentially a very saleable asset and hope we get him on a long deal.

Indeed. Most were signed up to contracts to 2026 so any outgoings will have to be an offer to good to refuse or tge player forcing the move. Can't really see any of these players doing the later.

Collin signed to 2026 and although it doesn't state it I'd imagine possibly a club option for a further year.

They don’t want to, but everyone has a valuation, at any level.

I don’t want to speculate on the valuation we have put on players but if we value Collin at X and a Club offers X, we will accept it. We will have names of potential replacements.

Under this management, I feel more confident of being able to replace a player than I have before.

Depends how our club is being run at the moment. You'd like to think that someone would, but you wouldn't put it past us to still not have a grip of our budget.

We will, with the new guys in place, 100% have a grip on our budget.

Some decent players in the Brackley vs Boston (congratulates to them, even though that promotion ruins my football manager journeyman save for fm25!) game. Particularly impressed with Morgan Roberts of Brackley and Jimmy Knowles of Boston.

BoyWonder2 are you certain RM (or SBC} wont sod it all up on the 15th ?

I don’t think so.

Everyone is working towards the 15th, and there is a chance we make that, however I’d fully expect another short adjournment if we are close.

Someone like @Medway Blue will be able to give a better update on how things are in that regards.
