Transfer Embargo, Winding Up Petition & Staff Salary Issues

But “yesterday’s depressing financial news” is not within his remit.

Stan has commented during plenty of bad times so far. His remit is the footballing department, and they are doing excellently.
You are wasting your time trying to talk sense to this hardcore little group who clearly have a personal grudge against Stan and will turn any topic into an opportunity to knock him.
Everything good that is happening was kick-started by Stan and he is still heavily involved in making things even better. He has a great working relationship with Tom, John Still and the 3 amigos. He goes to visit terminally ill fans and spends time with their family offering comfort and support from himself and the club. He travels the land looking for potential future signings and goes to most away games to cheer the team on. His input on this forum is not to protect Ron but to encourage us fans to put aside our dislike of Ron and support the amigos and players big time because if they do great then we are rewarded with good football, hard working and skillful players and results that give us happiness and hope.
We should be building a statue to this Southend legend for all he is doing

Any chance we can ease back on the "we are not the only ones" attempts to damp things down

Its not going down well !!

Its like saying we are not the only ones with cancer ! It doesn't make anybody feel better

Not only that we have the most appalling record in the league for court appearances and embargoes. No club matches that

We are for sure miles worse than anyone else in this regard and we all know it and have to suffer the misery of it, and are sick to death of it , thanks to Rons pathetic management

It's not HMRC, it's the court. The court would need to see that there are funds being made available and what the timing of that would be. The adjournment date would then be set accordingly.

For me the issue is that date. The EFL transfer window would have been open for about 2 and half weeks by that point so it is possible that we would lose players early Jan and not be able to replace them until later in the month.

It's both, hmrc can agree to the adjournment or object to it. For them to agree they should be thinking that there is a reasonable probability of them being paid.

Agree on the timing, could leave us vulnerable.

Thats the thing that gets me with those who trot out the "we're not the only ones" line. Maybe not, but we're the only ones who have been suffering with the same issues under the same charlatan of an owner for 13 years now......THIRTEEN YEARS! Absolutely astonishing.

FYI Ron using Martin Dawn PLC and Delancey Estates, together forming South Eastern Leisure (SEL), took control of Southend United in November 1998, buying the club and its centrally located Roots Hall ground for £4m from then chairman Vic Jobson.

Thats 24 years ago. We overreached ourselves aiming to stay in the Championship, and then again trying to get back into it (6th and 8th placed finishes the following seasons). Along came the financial crash of 2008, a global pandemic in 2020 and the rest as they say is history.

We are truth be known still playing catch up from that period.

I wonder if we owe Macron a load of money too, if you want to buy an adult home shirt online its L or 5XL only, suggesting we haven't paid them and they won't make any more up until we do, away is only available in XXL, 4XL and 5XL
NO we dont owe Macroon a cent .The store outlet is run by Macrron the shirt sales is down to then not the club .

Yeah I know that, but the issues were suffering now began around 2008 or 2009. Players and staff not being paid on time was a constant theme throughout 2009/10 and the latter part of 08/09. And I'm sure Steve Tilson told me as long ago as 2008 that Ron had defaulted on loan fees to parent clubs of some of our loan players. So maybe make that 14 years that this has been happening, and 14 years of reputational destruction in the game for our club. No other club comes close, so no, it's not "the same for everyone else".

I note the comments on possible player sales ...

does every penny from a player sale get routed through the club - or are some commissions paid to third parties (agents) that might in turn benefit unnamed people associated with "making the deal happen"

Why did our youth team hero Ricky Duncan suddenly evaporate .. ?
