Transfer Embargo, Winding Up Petition & Staff Salary Issues

1.4 million, How the **** he racked that up? Jeez this man really has ****ed this club up....... 2 years ago he struggled to pay off half million and 2 years on its 3 times the amount. I don't see how we get out this mess if I'm honest.
It’s all going to be fine. Don’t worry 😂😂 backroom staff wages which I’m sure aren’t a lot to begin with will be paid in full on time forever more. 😂
Can’t believe people keep ******* this up.

How many times does the same thing have to happen before you realise you may be being mugged off by a property developer and whoever else attached to this all?

Maybe Ron's banking on winning the Euro millions! Lol

Stan wasn't dragged in, just asked for a comment, being a senior club representative who engages with the fan base, I think that's reasonable.

He didn't divulge anything he couldn't but gave a good reassuring account of the current status no one is privileged to.

"Last week, Ron, Tom, Kev, Darren, Benno, John and I met at Roots Hall.

"A 2 hour meeting to go through several agenda items on and off the pitch that affect or could affect the Football Department".

"Keep calm, trust the Football Department, General Staff and Tom".

That's more info we would ever get from the owner and appreciated, so no apologies on my behalf for asking.

But it’s on an issue he said from the start, was outside of his remit.

The majority of us will appreciate his update, I did, but some will use it to add more fire to the fuel and start questioning more.

You wouldn’t ask the plumber about your faulty car.

I would.... the last one didn't turn up and bodged it when he eventually did!!!! 😆

I like the amount owed being banded around What is the true amount i guess the only people who knows is Tom And Ron .Playing the guessing game just makes matters worse .

Yes. An even better one than we have now .... I know its hard to imagine but if we said 12 months ago we would have a far better younger fitter team, with Kacper signed on a permanent, we would not have imagined it.

If Stan says "trust", that's enough for me.

Financial information won't be divulged and if 1.4 million is the deficit, that seems a lot to turnaround in 56 days. Although we can't trust Ron, and I don't, I do 100% trust Tom.
Okay that's fine but are we going to have to sell players to fund this and be back at square one?

I'd be surprised tbh .... but if we did, I trust the Football strategy process.

Now that is Stan's department and he assured us IF clubs were after our players, (which should be the case as it means we are doing something right), and made offers that suited us, then other players are continually identified to replace them. To date, this has been extremely effective. Progressive planning at it's best, how it should be.

So we have slashed the wage bill over the last 2-3 seasons and while there has been a drop in revenue due to the loss of our EFL status, crowds have remained fairly constant. There has also been nothing spent on keeping RH is any sort of operating condition, just the bare minimum to satisfy H&S certificates.

Despite this we are still unable to pay monies due to HMRC to the tune of £1m+, these accounts need submitting urgently so that the transparancy is restored and we can see why.

I think the outstanding money goes back to Covid when we were playing behind closed doors so attendances were prevented from holding up for the period in question.

This is the same debt that put us in embargo last year (can anyone remember/find how much we owed then?) and meant Ollie Kensdale was training with us for ages before he was officially announced. We eventually agreed a payment plan (last December?) but then defaulted a month or two ago on that plan which led to the entire sum becoming immediately payable. It’s therefore **possible** that without this debt we’d be just about bumbling by and living within our means and servicing this debt has tipped us over the edge but we were struggling to pay HMRC before Covid came along as we were under embargo then as well.

Basically this is historical debt and we may or may not be now living within our means.

Wouldn't be the first time and most definitely not the last!
Just frustrating when it's players who can help us achieve and are happy but have to go for financial reasons! Players like Stan, Fred, Chrissy etc. you can understand but when it's for not massive money makes no sense. The football side of things the players probably feel theres nowhere better including a lot of EFL clubs!
The only doubt is if you'll get paid.

If players have to be sold to get us through, then we need to accept that as a "small" club, but I'm a lot more confident we could bring in replacements that will be up to snuff given the good/bad signing ratio by the management team now.

Will be a wrench to lose anyone, but I imagine there are plenty on radars of bigger clubs. But you take someone like Lopata, Miley or Powell out of the team, we are considerably weaker.

Of all of the players, would be pretty deflating to lose Lopata obviously - the boost he has given everyone has been the platform to get this run going and the opposite could be true if he left so soon.

Anyone else, we'd have to cope with and hope we can pick up another gem from the lower leagues for a fraction.

I dont mind too much being a selling model club at the moment, I've always admired clubs that have done it (Posh, Brighton, Brentford) so cant complain if we follow that model.

I wonder how they would explain it to their families as their debts mount up?

It only really works though if it's on your terms and not being forced to due to financial difficulties. Because of issues we won't be in a position to negotiate and could lose good players for a low value. Its a sad state to be in.

It’s not just a model, it’s a fact of life.

We are a small club in the grand scheme of things, and we are non-league. Forget all the off the field stuff for a moment, but if a EFL club came knocking, offering more money, you’d be mad to say no.

Obviously you’d have to factor in relocating, families, school life for kids, wife’s work etc etc but if someone offered us double our wages to go to a “better” job, you’d snap their arms off.

95% of sides are “selling” clubs. Liverpool lost Mane to Bayern, United lost Ronaldo (first time around) to Real Madrid, so little old Southend will lose players.

We just have to get behind the ones on the pitch, and enjoy them whilst we have them.

We should count ourselves lucky we have players other teams want. We haven’t for about 3/4 years.

all great in theory, but in practice none of the above mentioned are under an embargo..... that's where the whole plan comes crashing down.

Exactly why I think he wasn't purely here to asset strip. He wanted it all. The knight in shining armour and a tidy profit at the end of it.
Sadly, the armour is more than a little tarnished now and seems that the villain that was Vic, wasn't so bad after all. I recall Ron lambasting his predessor for not running the club efficently and running up large debts. Seems quite ironic now.
Looking back at our chairmen of the past, we are never going to get the fairy tail, so I expect the next one will be much the same sadly.
The debts are to him in the most part, it’s very different.
