But unless he pays up the tax he owes .It might well end up a pipe dream
There’s plenty of interested buyers I can assure you.So frustrating seeing other clubs moving forward, getting investment, new owners or a new ground etc
This football club has so much potential, surely it would be beneficial for Ron to project manage the new ground and someone to invest into the football process, not sure if that would work contractually and Ron would get his £!
Maybe these offshore investors should be diverted from £3k home fans Gillingham, stuck in the corner of the country to the palm trees of the Essex Riveria and maybe TrueBlue could be our salesman

That is so true.Championship football would attract 15k in a nice new stadium as we were promised, sadly it hasn'r happened.
And the rest. That is so true.Championship football would attract 15k in a nice new stadium as we were promised,
Sorry, but how on earth do you come to that conclusion?I'm a hundred percent if Ron had never bought us someone else would of and we'd of at least flirted with the prem at some point. Take him out of the equation and we were an attractive option
I hear what you're saying but who's to say someone else didn't buy us a year or two later and wasn't a megalomaniac property developer....like Swansea, Hull, Bournemouth, Brentford got...Sorry, but how on earth do you come to that conclusion?
Firstly, Ron was at the head of a queue of 1 to buy us when he did. It wasn't quite as 11th hour as when Vic saved the club, but if Ron hadn't bought it at that point (for a very low price - but that's what happens when you sell because you have to rather than because you want to) then no-one else would have done.
We would never have got promoted out of league 2 (twice), won league 1, had a season in the Championship, had 3 appearances in finals, won two lots of play-offs, beat Man Utd and got to the League cup quarter finals.
I know the last 4 seasons have been dreadful, but all of the above came under Ron's control and we would have been a very attractive proposition at that point I would have thought. So whilst he is public enemy no 1 at the moment, it wasn't always the case. In fact, in 2007, he was affectionately known as "Uncle Ron" and was very, very popular with the fans. Let's not pretend otherwise.
Because if he hadn't bought us then, we wouldn't have lasted a month or two, let alone a year or two. And there was nothing to buy at that point except Roots Hall, so it would only be a property developer that would be interested. Here's another thing... they are all pretty much a similar temperament. We may have even got someone worse.I hear what you're saying but who's to say someone else didn't buy us a year or two later and wasn't a megalomaniac property developer....like Swansea, Hull, Bournemouth, Brentford got...
@fbm, you should be a solicitor, you smooth talking ****er.Because if he hadn't bought us then, we wouldn't have lasted a month or two, let alone a year or two. Plus you said you were "100%". Phrases like "Who's to say" show slightly less conviction.
Let's not invite negativity where it's unnecessary. 8 unbeaten, 8 clean sheets for Collin, up to 7th, 8-0 aggregate over the last 3 league games.
How about we don't even talk about the embargo or Ron? It's all out of our hands anyway. I heard somewhere the tax has already been paid (no idea if that's true) but I'm sure it will be which means the hearing will be a formality.
There's a lot to be pleased about on the pitch, we're in the play off places, let's concentrate on that upward momentum for the first time in several years.
u r so rude RHB ,he’s a very honourable gentleman !
Maher reckoned Hyde's is a hamstring issue.Any news on the 2 that went off injured today, particularly Hyde? At least we're not under an embargo just in case we need reinforcements, like Dackers for example.
Is that a euphemism...?Agreed, very rude. Rest assured he’ll be dragged round the back of SZ Headquarters and given a good drubbing. @Cricko is cracking his belt as we speak.
