Transfer Embargo, Winding Up Petition & Staff Salary Issues

When will people realise , protests on their own aren’t gonna get Ron out? I’m sure he is ****ting in his pants with a few ‘ we want Martin out’ chants . If this fan base is serious about getting him out we need shrimpers trust and all other supporter groups etc to come up with a more strategic plan to get Ron out behind the scenes before we protest and ruin the confidence of the players on the pitch

Will protests do any good No .Why because Ron does not take a blind bit of notice .So who does it effect the team .Its all well and good shouting and waving banners .But if Ron is not there you can shout as loud as you like it only falls on deaf eayes . Yes like you i am sick and tied of Ron Martind lame excusess .But the long and short of it he wont be move and wont change thats the real Ron martin not a SUFC supporter in any shape or form .

Ron boasted cutting the budget severely for the National league and getting rid of a tranche of highly paid players
Not dissimilar to what he said every time we dropped a league and he trimmed the wages apparently , and yet here we still are

12 years plus of financial mismanagement , embargoes, staff and players not being paid

Talk about cant manage a p.ss up in a brewery

How does he manage to get his socks on of a morning?

Not so - at every government level, even down to council tax, if there is a time to pay agreement in place and a payment is missed then the whole amount is immediately due.

The winding up order being simultaneously issued is as a result of football clubs generally (historically) using HMRC as a bank. A few years ago they said "Enough is enough" and now, whenever a football club misses a due date for a tax payment, there's no grace period; it's straight to a winding up petition.

This won't be anything to do with us or Ron personally (although they will be obviously gunning for him). I'm sure Ron will not have been taken by surprise by this and if it hasn't already been sorted, then it will be by the 9th November.

Either way, there's sod all any of us can do about it. Stop worrying and enjoy the games between now and then.
I agree there’s nothing we can do. Whoever owns the club is in it for themselves economically or socially . Sad reality of the football business.

The thought of ff farm money drives him. Everybody else is collateral

One mans deluded chase for a pot of gold, at the end of a rainbow, has dragged SUFC through the mud of FF. Time and certainly money is running out, and the signs were there again with staff not being paid. HMRC must be fed up seeing him, and even if he finds the money this time, we will be summoned again.
What is the timescale of the debt that is owed this time? Does anyone have an idea, as a 7-figure sum, for tax seems quite high.

I think you’ve knocked the nail on the head regarding chasing rainbows 🌈 and as for yet another run in with HMRC they could just say enough is enough because I’m sure it’s not just about coughing up at the last minute that resolves it.

We’ve broken a time to pay agreement and even if RM does settle next month they may request a proper financial plan be presented in order to prove this won’t happen again.

Regarding that pot of gold, probably finally get there and find out Ron’s already spent it.

I was never a MM fan boy. You're making it up.

I was just realistic in that he was dealt a **** hand which made his job a lot harder than it should have been

the funniest thing I ever saw on this forum was SUFC fans saying we should keep him on even if we were relegated.

i don't suppose that was you and I am definitely not going to search back to check but I do wonder if it was...

as we plummeted towards non league oblivion you were making excuses for him - you still are ..

Not excuses

The truth

I'm not a tax lawyer,obviously- (where's Matt when you need him?)- but I can't help wondering why HMRC don't lean on HMG to pass legislation to the effect that any company /owner who makes say 3 appearances in the winders court automatically goes into administration.Would save us (and I imagine a few others) quite a lot of regular grief.
