If the bid from the reported Championship is for Hall and Ferdinand then it is a possibility that it might be Forest, Peterborough or Blackpool. I think the dark horses could well be Ipswich. Apparently they have been tracking these two players for some time, They played well against Ipswich the other week in a friendly ( which we won) and if they've lost out on the two Posh players then they're the three reasons why I think it might just be Ipswich. Then again might be proved wrong.

Making one pass here or there is not showing they can fill Halls boots over the course of a season. As you say it's early days and they all have a chance to prove themselves and maybe we can be collectively better as a team.

Therein lies the point though, no-one can fill Hall's boots. You can't replace someone who comes up with 20 assists and a double figure goal return from the wing, certainly not without paying very good money which we can't afford.

Having said that there really is no better manager than Sturrock at this level with regards contacts and I have every faith in his ability to ensure the impending loss of Hall affects us in the smallest way it possibly can (I'm not disputing it's a big loss but it's quite conceivable that if the likes of Akinfenwa sign we will be stronger in other areas which is imperative as Hall cannot be replaced). In my opinion we have good wide players at this club who are more than capable at this level and if they can step up and show it I believe we're good enough to fight for promotion, particularly if a couple of good additions are made tomorrow to partly offset the probable departures of Hall and Kane.

One player doesn't make a team.

P.S. I hope the GOOD news is FF though, the long-term future is far more important than this season.

For the record we have also been linked to a loan deal for Luke Rooney from Swindon on FootballRumours. As a winger he'd be a decent replacement for Hall, not that I believe a word of anything written on that site. Probably garbage, let's see what tomorrow brings.

Heard a mutter that Marc Laird could be on his way should other transfers go through tomorrow. Nowt concrete, though.

I don't believe it for a second but the Matt Tubbs loan move is sounding quite credible down here on the SOUTH COAST, he is apparently lacking match fitness and as Bournemouth currently have 9 strikers on the books they are looking to maybe send him out on loan to revive his form at Crawley.

Would be a great signing though!!!! As for Kane and Hally we have all known for sometime that they would be off so its better it comes now than in January.

I would imagine finances pending we may see 4-5 players arrive tomorrow one of them being an extension on Belford loan

Not a hope in hell of Tubbs, believe he's off to Rotherham in any case.

I'd rather sell Hall, in my opinion we've already lost the Hall from last season anyway, for whatever reason, therefore cash in on him and free up the wages to bring someone in who wants to play for the club

Yes he will be missed, but it'll give another player the opportunity to step up to the plate

LOL. Brilliant.

I expected good news the way knob chops was talking!

Was fairly obvious really, Posh have been keen on Hall for a while & as their trousering a lot of money from Ipswich I'd have been surprised if it was any other club.

Still top marks to the Echo for confirming it..:dim:

Maybe Brogan will be back on the radar if Hall goes? I know he went non league, but might have a clause in the contract. I would like him here.
