Looks like they will go then. Big test for Sturrock yet again. Fact is we are a small club and have to sell to survive. At least we have saleable assets, don't remember too many of those in our past basement league sides.

We can afford to lose Kane, and still be aim for promotion. The same can't be said for the only creative player in our squad.

What the Maher thing ?

Well a twitter poster is probably one of the most negative anti-sturrock people ever so would take anything he posts with a pinch of salt

In all fairness though, at least he's reasoned rather than an irrational knee jerk kinda guy. I disagree with him a lot, but I've got a respect for him, he's got his view and has stuck with it.

How is being totally anti Sturrock no matter what he achieves reasoned?

Completely blinkered by bitterness if you ask me and the guy has barely seen a game.

Let's see if his prediction of sturrock out and Maher in works out tomorrow.

Let's get them out and see what Sturrock can bring in. He hasn't done too badly so far in the last 2 years.

Any stadium news I'll take with a pinch of salt. Any transfer news is generally the same actually until you see the player holding aloft the Southend scarf.

How much are Southend Echo's? I don't normally buy one but will have to pop down in the morning.

Just read the back page in the shop.

He is passionate (in the wrong way in my opinion) about the way Tilly was booted out and replaced and has since campaigned against the current regime. Personally I think it's all six of one, half a dozen of the other, but at least he's stuck to his guns and some of his reasoning is fair enough. Like I said, don't agree but we've had some good discussion either way about it without resorting to petty name calling. It's fair do's, no point in getting embittered about it.

The Maher thing is laughable though.

Chris Philips is laughing all the way to the bank

None of them have shown they can create anything yet and 4 of the 5 have barely even played for us..

Tomlin has shown he can create space got himself outside and inside the box.

Spicer has made some nice passes one led to a goal on Sat.

Timlin can thread nice passes and long switches. Scores a few crackers last season.

Hurst, assist on Saturday.

Martin, people seem to like him, good pace and crosses.

Don't forget Kane who might not leave, theres goals in him.

Early days.

Making one pass here or there is not showing they can fill Halls boots over the course of a season. As you say it's early days and they all have a chance to prove themselves and maybe we can be collectively better as a team.

I have it on good authority that the two that have had offers tabled are Barker and Coughlan from Blackburn as they're just looking for two pacey centre backs.

surely 'Huge' means Akinfenwa. If it is stadium that would be great , but it always seems to be 'years away' regardless of what year we are in
