Did Joe Hart ever play against us while at Shrewsbury? Surely we've entertained a better keeper than David James!

I would also put Edgar Davids in the team, quality player

Rob Jones (Liverpool and England) was a great right-back until injury ruined his career. Played for Crewe at Roots Hall.

Edgar Davids for Barnet?
also , did we even play Preston NE when beckham was there on loan?

Nope, Becks was on loan at Preston in the old Div 3 in 1994-5. We were two divisions too good for him at the time, under the watchful eye of Peter Taylor, until Steve Thompson took over in February.

Assuming Beckham may have been available to us as he was to Preston, we decided that season that the likes of Dominic Iorfa and Keith Dublin would be better instead.

Does reserve league count??? If so Rodney Marsh made his comeback after injury for QPR reserves in front of a very large crowd. Think it was 16,000 but could be memory playing tricks!!! He scored the only goal of the game about the only time in the match he showed any interest!!!

No you're right.I remember that, though I didn't see the game.Dunno about the size of the crowd-must have been less-maybe 6,000.

I think you will find it was about 3,000, but still an extremely good gate for a reserve match which usually attracted about 300. I was at the game all the QPR fans gathered in the West, we lost 1-0 I think.

How many World Cup semi finals did Ian Rush play in?

That would make Mark Wright and Paul Parker better than most players as well ! Rushy dominated English football scoring charts for yeats whilst winning every club trophy! I do love Beardsley, but I'm sorry, Rushy everyday for me !

All of the following played at Roots Hall before they played for bigger clubs and became Internationals: Pat Jennings(Watford), Alex Stepney(Millwall), Roy McFarland(Tranmere Rovers), Alan Clarke(Walsall), Derek Dougan(Peterborough United), Stan Bowles(Crewe Alexandra), Mike Summerbee(Swindon Town), Tony Hateley,Jeff Astle(Both Notts.County), & Paul Mariner(Plymouth Argyle).

When WHU res visited us late fifties for a Football Combination Div 1 match they had a 17 year old centre -half called Bobby Moore-I remember I got his autograph.
