Three most disliked players from your times supporting blues and why.

1: P.Gridelet

2:G.Jones

3:The Actor (forgot his name already)who played for the Dream Team and managed somehow to be offered a Contract (on the advice of Andy Ansah)and actually played in the First Team, mainly Sub and on the Wing .(Crrrap)

Five pages in and no-one has said McSweeney. The guy couldn't run in a straight line let alone pass the ball along one!

I think that is a bit harsh.....

I agree he was cack of the highest order but in his defence I thought he was fully comitted which I think is why he got a 2nd deal ahead of Steve Broad I think.

I thought as a full back he was toilet but as a centre half not bad.

Have to agree with some of these.

1. Drewe Broughton definitely. His ball control was hysterical. The ball would go forward to him, hit his shin, and go back to an opposing player - usually a forward. Once he was out the frame we started picking things up

2. Mario Walsh. I remember him signing from Col U I think. I remember too the manager at the time talking him up - good in the air, good control for a big man etc. Oh dear. We all probably got carried away cos his name was Mario and we were expecting some latin superstar. Shocking.

My third would have been Andy Sussex who I never rated then I remembered my years of frustration watching Ian Benjamin, 90-92. I am sure this will be argued but never did it for me and put me off going to games - well almost.

i thought mcsweeney was alright
anyway my 3 are as following in order
1.Gordon Conelly - absolute total crap
2.Donkey Drewe Broughton - need i say
and finally
3.Leon Constantine-great player for league2 and 1 but also a total judas so he is hated and the other 2 are just extremely ****

Interesting thread that can be taken two ways,

The players most disliked by people during my time supporting the Blues.
1) David Lee
2) Steve Clarke
3) Jerome Boere

The players most disliked by me during my time supporting the Blues.
1) Jerome Boere - showed disrespect to us long before we showed it to him.
2) Connelly - displayed nothing for us; no talent, no passion.
3) Southall - never wanted to be here, we never wanted him here.

Who was Southall keeping out of the team at the time?

As for my top three, theres nothing too original in them. It would be Roger Willis, Gary Jones and, most of all, Kenny's mate Jeroen Boere.

Dont see what Ben Abbey did wrong....pretty good goals per game record I think...and a brace against Orient without being as butt ugly as Neil Campbell...

I guess its a personal thing - i always thought he was useless. I think he won the Keith Dublin Award as being the best of a bad bunch.

I'm going with Flashing Blade on this one.
David McSweeney tops my list. Always reminded me of Chris Houghton at Spurs when he played in a cup final (possibly against Man City in 91 ?) and everytime he touched the ball he put it out for a throw. McSweeny simply couldnt keep the ball on the pitch. My son and I still laugh about him to this day. Apologies to McSweeney Fans.......

My second is Phil Dudley from the early 80's. Similarly the most frustrating wasteful of defenders but managed over 120 games in 6 years for the club (so someone liked him). I simply couldnt work out why though (but then we had no money)
Lastly I have to plump for Drewe Broughton. Hopeless control on the ball and I hated those stupid wrist bands.
My sub would be Constantine. Have never forgiven him for the absolute sitter he missed at our first Millenium Stadium adventure. It could have changed things (maybe)

Paul Roberts - The Ego! How ****e was he? I used to enjoy standing in the West Stand with my mates giving him some stick & getting a bite back every time. He go up in my mind for a brief while during the Spurs 3-2 game, but only for the fouls!!

John Keeley - The World Loves Me! No they don't they think you're c**t too! As a young kid he took great delight in taking the p!ss out of me & my mates as we queued for tickets. He gave it Charlie big spuds just to impress his fellow trainees. I was so pleased when he left SUFC & I was even happier when he didn't turn up to play for Sunday side too!

Derrick Parker - Cow's ar5e & banjo. Never forgave him for the chances he missed against Liverpool home & away. He had a few chances at home & then missed a chance at Anfield when it was still 0-0.

McSweeney-What a nob! had a beer with him a few yrs bk, what a ****. **** player as well!

Jason Harris- Speaks for itself

Jimmy corbett_ joke

3) Phil Gridelet. The only attribute he had was a decent level of fitness. He couldn't pass, head, shoot or tackle without fouling. Only one thing stopped him from playing at the highest level and that was a total lack of ability. How on earth he managed to become a pro is quite beyond me.[/QUOTE]

Didn't he once refuse to come out for the second half until a player who was receiving treatmant had gone out? Something to do with his suspicion about always being the last out....even if it ment your teammates were down to 9 men! Total premaddona who thought he had film star looks and hair.... probably could have got the part of Golam if they'd made lord of the rings a little earlier.Mind you having to wear that blue home shirt with the yellow sick flash that looked like somebody at chucked 10 eggs at our team, probably didnn't help his image.

I remember that! So how bad would he have been if he broke his superstition?! I dread to think!

I think he was waiting for Rammel to fit/find his contact lenses.
