Gary, we can and we do, ALWAYS, but it's really not all that hard to get around if you have some IT knowledge.

It's like a form of cyber-terrorism. When someone's really determined to cause disruption, there's only so much you can do. Sadly, it just leads to a lot of work and effort for the owners and mods. I'm getting it in the ear from the missus already because of effort I've had to put into the Zone today when we'd really prefer to be out enjoying the sunshine.

Personally, I'd hope that people would take the view you have that we're all here because we love Southend United.

We are spending far too many hours dealing with people who , for some odd reason, seem to want to cause untold grief for the Zone. No-one earns a penny out of SZ, in fact it has cost us a fortune over the years to provide a free service for the benefit of you the fans of Southend United.

Do not despair, we will continue to monitor posts and posters but please remember we also have to try and earn a living away from the Zone.

Give fredheim_holm and ozzyshrimper there own little board to draw pictures and talk crap, the flirty fifties another (who wants to see people there parents ages coming on to each other as if they are on "wildlife on one"), make this pub over 18 (you are supposed to be 18 to register) and ban access to each others boards. job done.

One thing it's probably important to say is that all the suggestions people make on here get discussed. Ultimately, we want to keep everyone happy, but it's proven impossible.

In some cases, we may have taken too strong a position. I don't have kids yet, but I imagine it's like what happens when they all start bickering and misbehaving. In the end, you just send them to bed without their tea and ban them from watching porn.

All we're actually trying to do is find a middle ground, but the one thing we will not tolerate is direct, personal abuse of any of the Zone owners. Why should we?

Its free for the users, its not free for them.

People should respect the fact that they give this board to us to use for free and in return all they ask for pretty much is...

Perfect response in my eyes. The Zone was a happy place until recently and the BBQ was a great success in my eyes. For a (sort of) exile it's great to touch base with other Shrimpers and as I've said numerous times, some of the people I've bantered with on here I now classify as friends and I hope to jeebus that we can all get together for some drunken adventures next season where you can all take the pee out of my dancing!

Unfortunately what may be needed is more mods, specific for each section of SZ and, if possible, ones in different time zones.

It's sad, because until recently it's been fine and problems were at a very minimum. It seems since the SZ "Powerbase" has come around the problems have skyrocketed.
