So... I've been away from my keyboard for one week and I come back hoping to have a catch up with various witty threads but it seems that all hells broken lose.

Bannings, unpleasant behaviour and locked threads being the norm and the happy banter of a few weeks ago seem to be very few and far between.

Whats going on lads (and lasses)? Post season blues? Maybe some of you need to take a break from all this and go and enjoy the sushine for a few days.

This place aint what it used to be!

I've been thinking of posting something similar over the last few days. Glad I didn't, as I wouldn't have put it so well.

And what more would you suggest the Owners/Mods do about it? .....It is becoming a 24/7 situation for us on here having to keep watch over things and frankly is becoming a pain for all of us.

We are spending far too many hours dealing with people who , for some odd reason, seem to want to cause untold grief for the Zone. No-one earns a penny out of SZ, in fact it has cost us a fortune over the years to provide a free service for the benefit of you the fans of Southend United.

Do not despair, we will continue to monitor posts and posters but please remember we also have to try and earn a living away from the Zone.

No, no, no, no, no - I'm not having a go at the mods in any way at all. The blame lies squarely with the idiotic and aimless abuse that some people are choosing to post.

I meant to say 'at the moment' about losing it's appeal. It'll all blow over eventually and we can then get back to having debates without it all descending into gibberish.

That way people would need to use another compooter elsewhere which would involve going outside. Those people may discover a whole new world out there....

It might reduce people reappearing simply as the same fool under a new name.

Of course I know diddly squat about pooters but I would have thought that that is a good idea from Gary.

Still say consideration ought to be given to looking at introducing a registration fee.
