Things you've always wanted to know an answer to...

Why is a Life Imprisonment in the UK only for a few years whereas in USA life is life end of?

For the same reason why someone given a fixed-term sentence may spend only half of that in prison.

As I understand it, the length of sentence doesn't necessarily mean the time you spend in prison, it's the time you are under the supervision of the Criminal Justice Service. Someone on a life sentence who is released from jail after 15 years will still be under some sort of supervision (e.g. a probation officer) for the rest of his/her life.

Obviously a convict won't be released from prison during their sentence if they're still adjudged to be a serious risk to society.

The Police get free travel on British Rail. Why?

Because a Policeman is obliged to uphold the law, regardless of whether he is on duty, so British Rail or whatever they are called these days, offer free travel to the Old Bill therefore getting their trains Policed for free.

Not true apparently.

I was on the way back from the Hereford game with a mate and we got talking to some York fans on their way back from Telford, a couple of whom were train guards and they said that normal coppers don't have any jurisdiction on railways only the British Transport Police have any authority. Not really sure how the topic came up mind.

Well the copper I know definitely gets free travel. Does a policeman have to be on duty to make an arrest? Probably not, which means they do get some jurisdiction wherever they are.

I think they have to have their warrent cards on them or they dont have the power of arrest , didnt it used to be they had to have their helmets on to perform an arrest ??

Why dosent super glue stick to the inside of the bottle ?

REaction with the air helps to bond the glue to the substabce your sticking , it was originally invented for use in surgery (hence why its just a bugger when you stick you fingers together)

Another one from me...
Why do professional decorators (most tradesman do it but it's 99.9% of painters) feel the need to consistently whistle loudly & brightly but soooooo out of tune?

I can confirm that this is indeed bollocks.

Simple really, Gingers are a superior race. Bald people are just complete Tossers, like Harry Hill, William Gallas, and the poster Scrounger.

Suicide.

To be honest, I'm ginger, and I've done the baldness thing, but at least I've got the option of having hair...

I've got a question...
This is a question that has plagued people for years, especially me. here goes...

Why do man utd fans ALWAYS seem to think they know EVERYTHING about football, why do they think THEY'RE the best fans in the world, and why claim they support man utd because "their dad does", and it's nothing to do with being a gloryhunter.
Plus i want to know why every cockney red claims to love man utd soooo much, yet have NEVER been near old trafford???????????????????

BAFFLING!!!
