The NBA Thread...

It's the bench I tells ya :whistling:

Looks as though Rondo went missing a bit... Last thing Boston need at the moment is for Rondo to sink back into his shell a la the first half of regular season... He's been a beast lately and seemed to pull the pieces of the puzzle together.

Seriously, If Garnett fails to win a Championship in this team I just might cry for him...

Never in doubt eh? Should be an interesting series against LeBron James and the other blokes.

KG is probably just glad to get that over and done with...

Team LBJ will be tough, but if they can just isolate him as much as possible then they eliminate a lot of the threat that the Cav's pose. I suspect that, especially away from home, they'll double team him with KG and Perkins which is a tough enough test for the very best of the best.

Good thing is Game 1 is on tomorrow night, which means Five have coverage of it.

On a side note, just how f*cking good is Chris Paul? For his PlayOff debut, he dominated the series and showed just how effective a Point Guard can be.

What a weird, weird game...

If Boston played as well as they can do, they would've killed the Cavs last night. LeBron had an absolute nightmare, had more turnovers than baskets and you could see it get to him.
Boston weren't a lot better, but had that experience off the bench which changed the game.

Following last nights non starter for LeBron, the 12 Points/10 Turnover man has teamed up with a leading Fizzy Drinks company to launch his own brand...

C's have picked their form up at last, beating Cav's by 16 points... Now let's see if we can replicate that form away from home.

Kobe got MVP... and the all star team also contains KG, Dwight Howard, LBJ and Chris Paul

Hope that doesn't come back to bite you. Not seen it yet, but apparently LeBron's dunk over KG (12 ring-less seasons and counting lest we forget) last night was pretty special.

Looking forward to Hornets vs Spurs tonight, think I'll record and watch it in the morning before work.

Having said that, I happened across this little stat on ESPN....

"Even though LeBron James helped the Cavs sneak back into their series with the Celtics, his shooting percentage has been atrocious. James has the worst percentage of any player in four straight playoff games with a minimum of 60 shots since the ABA-NBA merger in 1976-77."

A lot of it is due to the fact boston are doing anything they can to stop him from scoring - covering him with 2 men a lot - and also Boston (so im told by the experts here) have the strongest defence seen in the league for a long time.

I did counter that Keith Dublin would pi$$ all over them but no one here knows who he is. I might have stretched the truth a little when i compared him to Pele.

You just have to look at our how Boston not only ended the Rocket's 22 Win streak, but absolutely decimated it. T-Mac said later that it's the strongest defence he's ever seen in the league.

LBJ's dunk over KG was something special, but in front of his home town crowd he's like a god... I'm actually surprised they don't wheel him out on a Chariot Prince Naseem style and feed him grapes when he's sat on the bench. Against a solid defence away from home he seems to struggle massively.

Can't say i'm too surprised that Boston lost both away games... They did exactly the same against Atlanta and people were talking about the biggest play off shock in NBA history. What happened? C's took game 7 in monumental fashion. It'll certainly be interesting, but the real test is against the Pistons as, no offence to the Cav's, I don't rate anybody other than LBJ as worthy of being a Champion.

an LBJ master show couldn't stop the C's tonight... C's make the final with a 97-92 victory.

LBJ got 45 points, but Pierce took 41 home. That said, KG nor Allen had a particularly decent night and Perkins went missing. Unbeaten at home, Not a win away now.

C's take the first game of the Eastern Finals, but the NBA Draft lottery was last night, here's the order:

Bulls
Heat
Timberwolves
Supersonics
Grizzlies
Knicks
Clippers
Bucks
Bobcats
Jets

So the Bulls took the top spot, with them only having 1.7% chance of winning it. Undoubtedly the top prospect is Rose, but with Chicago already having Hinrich whose also their captain, I think they might just favour Beasley over Rose with Rose heading Miami way instead.

saw the highlights... LBJs deep 3s were just stunning and there was that huuuuggee one handed dunk i think in the 3rd quarter(?) which was unreal

Aye... it's a bit of a shame for LBJ as I genuinely think he could go down as the single best player of the NBA to win nothing in his career.
