A few posters have already stated it, but, over the last few days I have heard, direct from them, of more folks testing positive than at any time over the last 2 years.
One positive is that those I have spoken to have all felt okay, did tests because of other reasons, and isolating as a result with other family members repeatedly testing negative.
Is it a milder strain? Benefit of triple jabs? Or just that they haven't got other health issues?

Southend hospital admissions are, I am reliably informed up, A&E "under seige", gp services poor and routine stuff being cancelled again.

All very predictable - remove the restrictions, cases will go up! They'll go 'down' again when the free testing stops.

Maybe, but the people I know have tested positive but only on home lft so are not UKguv statistics.
As always, imo, it is the hospital admissions and knock on effect that is the critical problem.

You should register the Home lft results on the gov website - are they not counted in the govt stats?

you should register on the gov site as that is mostly where the stats come from

I have seen more positive covid people over the past couple of weeks than I have in the whole of 5 months so - yes it would seem the rates are increasing again however, the reports coming back are that people are not severe with it.
I did hear today of two people who were positive but carried on working (not where I work) as they don't get sick pay and the government pay has now stopped.

Yes, I have heard the same, not much else self employed can do with bills to pay.

Has anyone seen anything about the duration of vaccination protection, including boosters? It seems to me that before too much longer the protection will wane and then what?, more booster shots?

Strangely enough I was reading the literature sent via work around this.
Anyone over the age of 75 or living in an elderly care home will be offered another vaccine this spring.
It should commence from next week and surgeries will be contacting people directly and invite them in. I am already booked to go out next week to start this with care homes and housebound.
At the moment there is nothing for people highlighted for under 75 but, I guess we may have an annual vaccination like the flu jab come late summer/early autumn

Plans are being made for 4th shots for vulnerable iirc. This is one benefit from the variety of vaccination manufacture, I expect folks will get a booster shot of a pharmacist brand that they had yet to have administered?

Thanks @Tinks. I'm classified as immunosuppressed according to my surgery and the NHS and they were threatening me with another jab way back in January but nothing has come of it. Thankfully I'm not in the over 75 gang just yet, so I'm happy not to be stabbed again. Our Pfizer booster made the pair of us feel rubbish for some months afterwards, whereas the Astra Zenica jabs had no side effects at all. Just weird.

I tested positive Tues last week, after experiencing a dry cough for a few hrs & sniffles!. That had disappeared the next day, & i just felt a little 'washed out' for 2 days. Test was negative Mon morning this week.
Weirdly my 'other half' has tested herself daily since then, but is still negative??. You'd have presumed because we're under the same roof, she'd have got it as well?.
