The EU Referendum

How are you voting?

  • Leave

    Votes: 58 56.3%
  • Remain

    Votes: 45 43.7%

  • Total voters
    103
  • Poll closed .
It will be interesting to see what happens, much was made of a Labour disconnect with it's core historic vote and despite it's lack of MP's it did force a referendum promised by other parties that they never delivered on.
In my mind UKIP are done, got what they wanted. They and some voters may not see it that way.

The big story over the next few days though won't be UKIP and won't be Labour - it'll be this Tory government, who goes, who gets promoted, if Osborne gets to deliver the budget he threatened, what they do to sure up the economy. And SNP I guess will be generating some headlines.

For UKIP it is job done really - they are represented by one MP and a bunch of MEPs that no longer mean anything. Farage can do some 'people's champion' speeches for a few days and then his whole being is redundant.

I lost a lot of respect for him over the last year or so. I agree that he is redundant as a MEP as are the rest of them but I think UKIP will soldier on as a protest party rather than any political force.

What will they protest against? I envisage the Father Ted scene where their protest is 'down with that sort of thing'!

Leaving the EU doesnt close the book does it. We could leave the EU then sign a trade agreement with freedom of movement, which will completely go against why UKIP did this for.

They will be around for years to ensure that Brexit achieves the goals they wanted.

I cant stand Farage, but you have to give it to him, he achieved what he set out to do and has pretty much destroyed the Tory party on the way.

So much for the '350 million' funding the NHS

Far from it. Like the rest of the metropolitan elite you have ignored and insulted the white working classes from Southend to Sunderland. It is the Labour party that is finished.

Yes you clung on to their vote in the safe Northern towns last year but just like Scotland, now these people have voted out, they will realise their vote really can change things for the better. UKIP will do very well up North simply because you just can't be told anything and you never learn.

You have been avoiding the Immigration Elephant in the room. Chuka Umunna saying this morning we need to start listening to peoples concerns, as Dimbleby said 'Don't you think its a bit late for that'

Today of all days I'm glad it's still all about me - makes me feel so special!

Don't be to upset with me, there are over 17 million people all saying the same thing.

No its not about you I was voting Labour and a member of a Union long before you were around. You just took over from the people who had spoilt both years ago. Trouble is You can't help sneering at the very people you claim to represent. There is more to life than Student Union Bar politics.

Pound's down, Cameron's resigned, Corbyn's got a vote of no confidence, BofE have had to put £250bn into the market to stabilise it. Plus, we're now the 6th largest economy after the currency shock, as France have overtaken us. Oh and Spain want joint sovereignty over Gibraltar.

Don't worry, we get to kick out Polish cleaners.

And the favourite candidate to steer us out of this biggest mess in post-war history is Boris ****ing Johnson.

For someone who isn't 100% on all this political stuff. Now Cameron has resigned how is a replacement sourced? I take it that it won't go to an election? Is it a similar situation to when Blair left and Brown took over?

Tory MPs will stand and they need a number of Tory MPs to back them - then members of the Conservative party get to vote, same as when Corbyn took over Labour.
