By make things happen do you mean sign a loanee, get another striker etc?Come on all pile on, I would love to see a club run by you lot, fingers and toes crossed all round. We need to make things happen, not just hope it will.

It's a start, others seem to think that we should wait long enough and our strikers to start scoring. I hope everything works out for us, but we always seem to sail close to the wind.By make things happen do you mean sign a loanee, get another striker etc?
Where have I walked away from any games, you seem to make it up as you go along?
Perhaps he drives?!!Reading not your strong suit then?
Try again.
Unfortunately, I very much doubt That we'll be going to Wembley in May (and I say that as someone who's booked a trip over for our last NL game (this season) against Wealdstone at the end of April.(I do hope that qualifies me as a fan).Ron overspent on players and ignored RH because he thought FF and the Championship was the answer.
Funny how some of the posters who shouted from the roof tops about Ron have already turned on COSU...... For the crime of not being like Ron
I get they are only concerned about what happens on the pitch ......Thats because they don't even go to games. They never even donate £5 to Shrimperzone.
They have never run business with why they don't understand how the small but successful EFL clubs operate. Its simple, they make more from their stadium than the do from ticket sales. Shrewsbury made more money in the summer from weddings and events than we will in whole season. The answer isn't always owners should fund my club while I sit on the sofa with my fire stick.
I guess those amongst us who do really support our club are happy with the improvements. Thats because our contribution is far from mediocrity and we don't announce like some pompous **** that we wont be attending if there is no glory in sight......Yet come May the wingers will be there at Wembley..... Complete face paint, comedy wig and big foam thumb.
I doubt if any of us would make it running the Club. That's why we leave it to professionals and a Consortium of businessmen that do know what they are doing. The best place for all of us is on here spouting words of wisdom. I mean, after all, if we were any good at running a professional football club we'd be doing it.Come on all pile on, I would love to see a club run by you lot, fingers and toes crossed all round. We need to make things happen, not just hope it will.
The answer, probably, is somewhere in the middle. I don't think anyone is arguing we shouldn't recruit any additional strikers, but having 7 in the squad is likely too many.Come on all pile on, I would love to see a club run by you lot, fingers and toes crossed all round. We need to make things happen, not just hope it will.

My two p's worth again.
In the last few years under Ron, not much was spent on players, most of the time he didn't even pay them on time, let alone everything else he didn't spend any dosh on, so scrimping on the pitch, is something I and others are sick of.
As for running a business I have for over 35 years, direct contact with customers, and still plenty of work in the pipeline, I know how to deal with people. A product I came up with sold 150k worth last year ( shame I only get a fraction of it) I have another product launching next year with a multi million pound global company, so I may know a bit of what people need.
I have watched every game this season as a season ticket holder and on TV so I think we can say I back the club.
I worry about OUR strikers not scoring as I read on another thread Pepple could be offski, which i called in a previous post, if that is right, it leaves us in a right state up front.
I think everyone should have their say, especially on here, as you never know what could get back to people who can influence that change, ideas and talk is good. Only seeing one side is bad.
UTB
You must be so clever, I don't know why you don't run the team, the stadium renovation, why not run for prime minister. And you are beginning to wind me upReading not your strong suit then?
Try again.
Another clever clogs. I invented the product. They wonder why people give up with this forum.McDonalds or KFC?
I have also made decent money by selling a good product. Unfortunately my suppliers have all been arrested and are now facing some serious bird.
The problem is a lot of people think its easy to run a business. Many of us know it's never as easy as it looks but nearly everyone thinks they could run a football club.
I do know that actually.Obviously I meant our last home game.I Have no interest whatsoever in going to Gateshead. Not really Tangled. A real fan would be know that Gateshead is our last league game
But it's ok to have your view?Another clever clogs. I invented the product. They wonder why people give up with this forum.
Sadly I'm finding this forum full of people who only have one view, and they come down on anyone who differ from that view. All really boring
Too far ahead to even bother thinking about and may never happenYou should remember that the Club will receive money in instalments once building starts and then continues at Fossetts. In a recent statement from Daniel Cowan he said it may be 2026 or even 2027, before the Development begins. Continued patience will be needed.
The issue with that is, any income gained in this way, is immediately spent on players. It's a vicious circle that's getting worse.EFL provides bigger revenues. They recently signed a TV deal with sky and bigger away attendances mean more cash through. There's also more trickle down £ from the prem and academy support.
There is no one silver bullet but it would really help.
We're going there twice next year.Unfortunately, I very much doubt That we'll be going to Wembley in May (and I say that as someone who's booked a trip over for our last NL game (this season) against Wealdstone at the end of April.(I do hope that qualifies me as a fan).
44 years. So I win.I've seen us in the NL, League 2, League 1 and the Championship, for 40 years now I've been a Southend fan. I've seen it all.
We're only here because we got relegated twice in a row during Covid, when RM unashamedly abdicated his responsibilities as a Chairman of this proud club and left us fielding under-18's against professionals.
If you think that we're destined to spend our time stuck in this tinpot league, with its' tinpot clubs, without a shred of belief that things will get better, then perhaps you should find a plastic PL club to support.
That's the spirit! (Wish I could be so optimistic). We're going there twice next year.
The trick, like any business, is maximising revenue (from any source) while getting value from every single penny spent. Including on wages. The issue with that is, any income gained in this way, is immediately spent on players. It's a vicious circle that's getting worse.
