Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Unfortunately if anyone thinks things will get better next season with KM in charge, just look at today, and compare it with the vast majority of games this season, virtually exactly the same. We must have had 5 or 6 new players, and still the same.
Unless we pick up some loanees, who have something to prove to their parent club, (Pepple) or a player who motivates himself (GSM) who's offski in the Summer, or the whole 12 players who were playing for their careers, ( last season) things won't change.
I hoped we would kick on and get going, seeing we had a chance of the play offs, but there's nothing.
I really want to be wrong, but this season says otherwise.
I think we need 5/6 better players. Players we need to go all out to get in. If Maher can’t work with better players then he needs to go. He’s not had enough top class players to work with, he’s had the 2nd/3rd/4th choices thanks to our mate Ron. Which is I think what the “pro Maher” crowd are getting at.

I voted yes , and I haven’t changed my mind , I get the legend thing I really do , and he is Southend through and through , but there is no room for sentiment

BUT. Does he have a promotion on his cv ? Will he ever?
If you’d asked me that last season I’d probably have answered differently to this season although I still wasn’t enjoying the football particularly.

We had chances to get new faces in unhindered in January, nothing special has come in, or is it down to the way they are set up..I've said before every striker we bring in bar Bim, can't score. Surely they all can't be crap?

Parillon has been a great signng and is easily our best attacking player. Hopper in contrast is a waste of space and is very concerning to me when we must have had other options available.

I can’t think of many, if any, instances this season, when a game has been going towards a draw or defeat and Maher has changed the game for the better with his tactics. Can someone say better? It’s a genuine question.

Mostly I see like for like changes or negative changes but admittedly I’ve not seen every game and if someone can say otherwise that’s fine.

Nearly every team could have a better manager than the one they currently have. The question is how many extra points could they have squeezed out . Tactics and man management skills could eke out a bit but overall the team isn't good enough and that is down to recruitment. As they say you can't make a silk purse out of sow's ear. The easier recruitments have been the loanees - trouble is if they are any good and make our players look better they don't stay and we are back to square one

Going absolutely nowhere with Maher.
Blatant mistakes on team selection
Negative and clueless tactics
Same old out of form favourites
Wrong use of subs
Has there ever been a man that fails to motivate a team that has been odds on about three times now to make top seven in a park League?
Going to be a long wait until COSU come to there senses....being a club legend has given him about a year longer than his ability as a football manager deserves......today, lets drop the only player alongside Parillon that has been worth his place for the last 4 weeks, totally clueless!

What depresses me most is that we will undoubtably have the same manager in charge next season, and we will be in exactly the same position as we are now. IMO, he has taken us as far as his ability will allow. He makes the same mistakes week after week and doesn't learn from them. Agree that at least 75% of his players aren't up to standard but a half decent motivator would maybe get more out of them then he can. Roll on Season 26/27.

We’ve been fortunate that the teams around us hit such bad form, I don’t remember ever having so many results go for us, it almost felt like it was destined to happen for us but ultimately we aren’t and haven’t been good enough. Poor players and poor management of them.
