Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Officially torn now.
Without Maher we wouldn't have a club, the things that man done during the last few years should never be forgotten.
But today it wasn't even difficult for Barnet, it was clear after 20 minutes we were not going to score a goal...no chance. I shouldn't be able to predict that after 20 minutes of a football match bit its so clear. I'd call ad barrett and put the feelers out at least, in fact I will.

We did score a perfectly good goal though, but the Colchester supporting ref somehow disallowed it.

There are reasons for the poop on display.
Late takeover is a reason not an excuse, at one point there was no club. Hence no signings we actually targeted.
I need to reply emphasise how deep the Kensdale situation went. For a while Kev was having none of it, despite players stating what was going on, I genuinely believe the kick in the balls from kensdale was compounded by kevs initial inaction.
..which in a little way lost the dressing room for kev. Those heroic players of the embargo years are still here, however they are not performing anywhere near the same, in fact they've regressed a fair bit, however they got the well earned sort of sentimental contracts and here we are.
One of two things need to happen.
A true sweep of the entire Ron era playing set up..manager and players all gone a d rebuild. Or get rid of either the players or the manager.
Was kev the perfect wartime leader so to speak and not the man for the future?
I'm not sure what the answers are but dad is in his 60s travels down from Ipswich for every home game is a fanatical supporter...even he is struggling to get his butt down here as its so dire.

What Kevin Maher doesn't seem to have worked out is that you can't play the fashionable Premier League tippy-tippy, play-out-from-the-back, patient build-up style of football successfully without gifted players. The guys we have in our squad are 5th-division standard so he needs to adopt a style of play that fits with their limited capabilities. The players that Paul Sturrock had available when he first became our manager were, by and large, not technically or tactically gifted but Paul found a way to win matches by playing to their limited strengths, even though the style of football was not always the most attractive to watch. But it gave him a platform on which to attract new and better players and to build a better team. To my mind, that's what we need now. If Kevin can't see that his style of play doesn't fit with the quality of the players in his squad or if he is unwilling to compromise on his principles, it's time for him to go.

I don’t even want an experienced coach . Just someone that players attacking football and who’s tactically adaptable
Not wrong but have the so called custodian s got any plans to move forward, doubt it otherwise captain clueless would have been gone 6 weeks ago

The answer now regrettably is yes. Wins over Xmas & NYE period over relegation fodder papered over cracks. 5 set piece goals conceded against the best this league has to offer is appalling…. Yes we wouldn’t have a club without him and yes he’s a legend but the current footballing product A, isn’t entertaining and B, isn’t gonna get us anywhere close to out of this division.

Does feel like Kev may have lost the dressing room. They are not performing anywhere near their potential. Can’t even contemplate everything Kev has had to put up with and maybe it’s taken its toll on his relationship with the players. That was as bad as I’ve seen from a Southend team since Chesterfield. Something isn’t right.
