Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Should Maher go?

Genuine question, where do you actually see our side finishing with the squad we have?

We are very much a mid table side. End of, none of our players bar 1 or 2 would get in that York team yet we expect Maher to have us in the top 10?

No other manager is going to get us higher up the table with this squad

We need a complete overhaul in the midfield and upfront next season, we also need a number 1 who can push Colin and commanding CB to run that defence.

Changing the caption of the Titanic is pointless.

Yes. Whilst I don't believe this is a squad capable of finishing in the playoffs, it's a squad that's more than capable of a) winning more than just SIX games out of 23, b) be higher than 16th in the table, c) produce more than what they currently are. Last season with all the problems we had proved that.

Kev's time here has run it's course. The negative set up time and time again. The over relying on playes out of form. The poor recruitment of late.

You're kidding yourself if you think another manager doesn't come in, change things up.. maybe take the shackles off a bit and get's us climbing up the table.

Are you aware the wage budget has been massively cut?

We also have a transfer committee now that are signing players based on statistics, nothing to do with Kev, this isn't a football manager game.

And stop harping on about previous seasons, we are in a complete transition period ATM this season wasn't a progression from last season, we have very much taken a step back to steady the ship.

If this is true I'd like to tell them to **** OFF and let the football department deal with the footballers

I think the squad we have is not as bad as the league position shows. It's the boring negative toss they are told to play every game that hinders them. Do I think they are world beaters? No, but they are not as bad as what is being setved up and that is not their fault!

From my personal point of view as an onlooker a "fear" seems to run throughout, from players in the starting eleven right through to Maher (team selection, tactics & substitutions).

My understanding was that the scouting team are using stats much more than before, but Kev still has the final say. I’m all for stats if used correctly. Brighton and Brentford are two shining examples of getting it right.
They are premier league teams with tons of data available too them. We are getting data from parks and fields... Not the same. Why are we so desperate to do **** like that

I am aware, yes.. but paring a couple of players, this is still very much the same team that defied all the odds last season with some players who won't be on the minimum wage added to boaster the squad. Stop the excuses.

We've not just taken a step back, we've taken 10. Our home form is pathetic, our away isn't much better. We deploy the same boring, negative football week after week whomever the opposition. Right now are you confident going in to any given game of a win? I'm not. I wouldn't be surprised if Ebbsfleet, one of the worst teams in the league run us close on Boxing Day.

But sure, let's carry on as we are.. "steadying the ship" when in fact, right now we are a sinking ship under this management team.

I’m genuinely curious. Do you think Kev’s philosophy has changed, his approach, formations, tactics?

No, people seem to forget that even when we were winning, the football was still poor and negative, always passing out wide when we could just welly it. It's just now the luck isn't going for us like it did. We are not a bad squad we are badly set up!

In what period? From this last season to this? If so, not massively no. There have been little changes here and there rather than wholesale changes.. for example, since James Morton has came in to the side, we have a player with the ability to receive the ball from the backline and progress, sometime when Miley was the deepest midfielder we never really did. Otherwise, the overall game plan hasn't changed much in the years Kev has been here. Last season, with the same approach was far more successful, albeit with different personnel. That being side, even in games we won, at times the football was boring. Try to overload in wide areas and get the ball in to the box for the big man. It's something we've done now for so long, teams have wised up to it and set up to stop our threat.
