Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

To be honest I doubt it because who really gives a **** about the FA Trophy? A team like Southend, who let’s not forget just over a decade ago appeared in three high profile LDV vans trophy finals, should not be concerning themselves with cubs football competitions like this anyway. I actually take pride that we have never won the FA ****ing Trophy. Up the shrimpers
Maybe but (as I 'm sure you remember-I certainly do because I was there) ! we beat Brentwood 10-1 in the FA Cup back in 1968!

Are you sure?

I’d be surprised if GSM is here past January, and to be honest, he is another who I think hasn’t hit the heights this season in terms of his play. Obviously his goal output is fantastic.

A Felix or even a GSM as understudy, would be better than Wind and that’s no disrespect to Wind.
How would beyond January have affected the games so far this season - that response makes no sense whatsover.

So, are you telling me that Gus would have not been playing this season, even though he's our top scorer?

Wind came in, whilst Gus was suspended, got MOM, and was dropped, so based on this Gus would have played the same games this season (so far!) regardless of whether Felix had signed or not.

I’m not sure I’d be referencing 3 high profile LDV finals—just like the Trophy now,it was very much a lesser Cup competition…and of course we never looked remotely like winning any of them .
Two of them,of course,, were followed by memorable, exciting ,important play-off final victories.

We don’t know who would have started had we signed Felix. He might have been our first choice RWB, we simply don’t know.

Because Felix is doing very well at York, and a bit of a fan favourite, and GSM is a fan favourite here and been terrific since he arrived. Wind has played one full match for us, so hasn’t got in past GSM, so if we signed Felix and he started, GSM would be a better understand than Wind, who hasn’t broke past GSM.

No disrespect to Wind, he maybe terrific for us when GSM goes. I’m certainly not slagging him off or righting him off.

Harrison Male, their goalkeeper they signed from Dorking was our top GK target in the summer. Wonder how he’d have done over Collin this season.
The biggest problem for me is that we as a club don’t seem like we can compete with other teams at this level and therefore as much as we want these types of players we are always going to be unlikely to get them until we decide to heavily invest in the squad to get us out of this league. Other teams coming down are going to be going for it next year no doubt so the longer we don’t invest the harder it will constantly get.

I’d personally love another day out to Wembley regardless of what trophy or cup it is. Considering we are struggling in the league I’d really like to see us go for the FA trophy this year and think we can do well in it

I remarked on the fact that its only the F.A. Trophy on facebook and the amount of abuse I got.

Abuse on farcebook?

Whatever next? Abuse & rape threats to women, racial slurs, bullying and scams ........... well, I never ............... [shocked face]

Still, gives the police (that we pay for) something to do whilst the farcebook shareholders count their profits.

Some of these players had agreed deals with us, so that isn’t a problem with most of those I’ve said.

Andy Dallas, for example, agreed a deal TWICE with us.

The level is irrelevant, it's how you play the game. Maher's way sucks all the enjoyment out of watching football, no matter what division you are in.
If you were referencing a game at our level then it would be valid but you aren’t.

The problem is that Kensdale is no longer with us. He used to bring the ball forwards, pulling opposition players out of position and we’d be more progressive as a result.

Maher doesn’t deliberately want us to be boring in possession. Unfortunately we’ve lost our most gifted player in terms of starting attacks from the back and it’s wrecked our style of play.

A few pages back I uploaded highlights of our 3-0 win at Solihull last season. For our third goal Kensdale wins the ball and feeds Cardwell. Neither are here anymore.

Kev is not beyond criticism - Coker scored the first two and he was left out last week - but it highlights our current struggles.

If Kensdale was 'out most gifted player in starting attacks' then we are in more trouble than I rhought.

Attacks from the back. Didn’t say every move started with him. We’re now short of defenders who are brave enough to bring the ball forward.
