Thanks Kev - but is a new manager needed?

Should Maher go?

It’s a matter of opinion at the end of the day isn’t it, I can respect yours but I do disagree. I feel we should have just dropped Walker into midfield and continued, once we score then that’s a different conversation as then you have something to protect and with a man fewer I could see that argument but not at 0-0.
Ok aside from Woking what other games do you feel Kev set the team out to draw? Going down to 10 men I think most managers would be cautious and he certainly didn’t start the game with a defensive mindset.

Unfortunately Bim. and Bonne weren’t on the pitch together anywhere near as much as they should have been. Ok,maybe there was a reason why Bim had to be taken off every game after an hour ? but to keep making Bonne start on the bench was frankly inexplicable and inexcusable. Bonne would have started scoring much earlier and with even more Pepple goals,we’d have been right up at the top end of this miserable league.
When Bim and Bonne were on the pitch together, Bim looked a better player

He didn't say Bim was 'the' better player. He was saying that Bim looked better, at least in part, because of Bonne. 😉
Exactly what I was saying. Bim seemed to benefit from having Bonne playing beside him. Bonne has coached the less experienced strikers since day one and his movement off the ball has always created space for the other players, even when his perceived form hasn't been great

It’s worse than that. It’s the same old story of one (particularly) or two people intentionally stirring the pot and ignoring all the salient responses, again and again and again. All this just so they can have a little giggle at home and find a use for the box of autumnal shades tissues by their computer.

It would be far better if people just started ignoring them and stopped dignifying their mindless posts with considered replies.

I agree, he didn’t set out for a draw against Woking. I found it so frustrating as prior to this the fans had been calling for us to play 3 up top, he seemed to do it reluctantly and as soon as there was an issue he reverted to type, defend, safety first and I found it so frustrating as I genuinely believe the game was there for the taking.

Ok, now I’m trying to rack my brain for specific examples to be honest. I certainly can remember coming away from more than a couple of games where we have been (in my view) overly cautious when a more attacking approach would have (again, in my view) been the better approach.

I know I’m not alone in my thinking, a lot of people I speak to or hear feel the same. Doesn’t necessarily make us right but we’re also entitled to our view. The Woking game for me was the point when I went from being on the fence to saying I don’t think he’s the right man to take us up and so far I’ve not seen enough to make me change my mind.

I don’t understand why so many people find this thread so offensive? I’m fine with people questioning me on what I’ve said and I’ll try and answer the best I can.

Do you think this sort of post helps? Or could this be seen as intentionally stirring the pot? Nothing I’ve said is done to stir things up or cause division, they’re my views.

I thought this was supposed to be a forum or do we only discuss subjects you like?

So many off topic comments on here. On other threads they would not be allowed so why here? The question asked at the head is still highly relevant despite the efforts of some to shut it down, in some cases by abusive and scurrilous remarks aimed at the poster rather than addressing the issues. Four draws in the last six games is not play off form, overall the season has been patchy and disappointing with all the signs that were there seasons ago that the present regime do not have what it takes to get us out of this division. To try to shut down debate is the antithesis of what a forum should be about.

Would you have a manager who plays exciting football but fails to get us out of this division, or would you have a manager who plays boring football yet gets results.

Kev tends to play boring football and fails to get us out of the division.
If he can play more of the exciting attacking football and getting results we have being seeing recently, that's what I would vote for

I've given up offering comment on this thread as I've voted to keep Kevin Maher based on what I've seen this season, and given his work from previous seasons. The vote in the poll shows that more than 50% of Zoners that have voted agree with me on the 'keep' front. I don't feel the need to argue the toss with those that want him gone.
