I'm sure your view on one match vs Stan's, John Still and the scouts views over multiple matches will shine through ?
Totally agree with you of course but I think Im allowed to offer a view as a supporter who has taken a keen interest in scouting methods , and this is a key match, accepting thats very much all its is, a view from one match and I am a massive fan of our recruitment team

On that one view I would offer the following

On average a footballer touches the ball between 45 to 70 times per half. Khan touched the ball 12 times , losing possession on 6 occasions, committing two fouls and kicking the ball away. Missed tackles on a number of occasions, poor cover for Halifax goal

Of the 12 touches 3 were quick passes. He shows some pace playing behind the front two and likes to get forward, often indeed ahead of the front two and showing some anticipation, but defensively is not great in the tackle and fairly clumsy, Khan is quick and spotted opportunities to intercept but l often lacks control of the ball when he gets it

Technically and tactically a mixed bag. Contrast, could use and find space well but also disappears for lengthy periods. Can create some pressure but offset by poor marking , Got in one cross.. Awareness varied?

Exhumes a lot of energy but not always to great effect,

Wasn't sure what to think of Khan, based on tonight's game and the atmosphere it was played in. At the start of the game he made a couple of good runs and had a shot blocked by Rowe his own player. In the closing stages he had obviously tired and was playing for free kicks and playing the clock.

Again in the early part of the game he was holding a challenge off well and making some good runs in and around the box, with and without the ball. Including dragging the defender away from the near post for the first goal.

I think he would be an improvement on Will Atkinson, he seemed to be more similar to him, compared to Dunne and the other midfielders we got rid of at the end of the season.

Khan seemed to be playing pretty high, drifting between being a midfielder and a striker on the left side of midfielder rather than being a typical attacking midfielder where they stay between the midfield and striker and float in that area across the pitch.

Will be interesting to see where he would play for us. From the limited clips I've seen he looks more of a dribbler than a passer. Has a decent shot on him too, including one from inside his own half this season.

I have to admit I wasn't that impressed by him. I thought Whelan was the better CM and Green did well for Halifax. Shame that Spence didn't play for Halifax as he has been getting some good reviews. Obviously it was only one game and Chesterfield came in with a plan to disrupt Halifax's game so it might not have suited his style. Fully behind the recruitment & management team if they feel he is someone who can vastly improve us.

I wonder if Maher will look at his old club Bristol Rovers for some released players. Cian Harries is one that was well thought of a few years ago, but seems like it hasn't worked out for him. Left footed CB and still only 23 years old. Another one is Tom Mehew, who was on loan at Chippenham for the last part of the season. Defensive midfielder who mainly sits in front of the defensive, but can also pick a pass. His assist around the 6 minute mark is worth a watch.

Anyone hanging around boots and laces to loom for fitness tests ?!
Probably won't see anything until June when contracts officially expire.

Has anyone seen Chelmsford play recently? They have a couple of young wing-backs who could be ones for the future. Eduino Vaz on the left is only 19/20 and Freddie Hockey on the right, who has very limited minutes and is apparently a striker, is only 16 years old and was getting the attention of West Ham last summer.

Speaking on youngsters from the league below, I hope we have an eye on Bailey Hobson and Marcus Dackers, who is 6 foot 7, but only on loan from Salford.

I've added Khan to the list on Page 1 - HERE

Purely because you lot spent most of yesterday evening posting about him. He can stay as ? for now as although there's plenty of chat, there's very little in the way of reasonable rumours. He did however have a spell at Daggers, although brief. So you would assume Mr Still knows all about him.

Please don't let Barry know about that little fact @Smiffy, he'll be even more blue.

If anyone has substantial info to suggest imminent signings, feel free to PM (in confidence), we'll review and look at potential upgrades to ?
