Welcome.Hi guys, first time on here been a season ticket holder for nearly 20 years.
All seems very positive is this southend?
Let’s hope this week at least one of these gets announced . It will be the most positive end to a season I could of wished for .
I wouldn’t worry too much if they get announced this week or not. From the club’s perspective it doesn’t matter if it gets completed this week, next week or the week after. If one step in the chain is away (the agent, the player, the medical staff, the person who registers the player, the person who takes the photos of them on the pitch holding a scarf) then they’ll just wait for that person to get back from holiday to do their bit and let the other party know that’s what happening. If it was during the season it would be different but this time of the year it can wait a week until someone is back from hols.
It doesn’t really work like that. I think he’d be going from semi pro to pro which is a huge change. He’s also likely going from a small contract to a big contract. So from a smaller premium to a much bigger premium. If Dorking could afford to insure him, I’m pretty sure we can. Might just need to use a different insurance company than our usual one.
I think it’s likely though that insurers would seek to exclude any loss related to his heart condition. Maybe we take the risk of having him effectively uninsured but would you take that risk the season after losing Abu Ogogo to a heart issue? That becomes a greater risk if you’re paying a transfer fee as well.
