Don’t allow yourself to be jealous of Solihull. Don’t give in to this non league ideology. In my head we are still a Championship side so I keep an eye on who the likes of sheff wed and Swansea are signing. They are our real rivals

Did you keep an eye on Swansea's defending last night?

2-0 up and 90+ minutes on the clock & then they scored 2 own goals.

No inside information at all, but someone asked Chris Phillips whether this was anything to do with us, so I'll post it here.

Striker Femi Akinwande has left Tonbridge Angels (National League South) with immediate effect (only signed for them in the summer from Billericay Town). Assume this will be to move to a higher club.

He's local and a good age - mainly played at lower levels but would assume John Still and his army of non-league scouts know all about him. Could be an additional striking option for us, has been playing (and scoring) regularly at a higher level than Chris Wreh.

Did Chris say anything about this or just guess work currently?

Silence so far - I think this is just guesswork. The guy has mutually agreed to leave Tonbridge Angels (NLS) 2 games into their season after scoring and MoM performances. Guessing he might have an automatic release clause if a NL or EFL club came in for him. He's local to us so could be an option. Purely guesswork though

Sounds like they released him and not that he had a move lined up.

From their site, the last sentence doesn't sound as though there was any bitternes or scandal about his departure.

Femi Akinwande

Femi Akinwande

Striker departs Longmead
It has been mutually agreed that Femi Akinwande will be departing Tonbridge Angels with immediate effect.
Angels Boss, Jay Saunders said: “We thank Femi for his contribution to the team in our positive start to the season. Femi is a top lad and we wish him all the very best in the future.’

Reading some of the responses on Twitter their fans seem baffled by this. One said he’s played 2 games, scored one goal, been man of the match and made it into the team of the week.
An opposition fan has also commented saying how impressive he was playing against them.
