Definitely agree, seems quite a blunt instrument, his penalty technique looks like your mate who came to 5-a-side as a ringer and never really played football at school but is keen to impress. The word I’d use to describe him from those clips would be ‘raw’.
Took his goal really well tonight and also won a penalty I think. Held the ball up well but was a little greedy at times, but guess he was trying to impress. His goal certainly did thatThoughts from a Dagger on Ibby Akanbi:
Dagger Don says:
"Ibby is a great lad on and off the pitch, he’s a striker that can drop inside to hold play up and has a very good eye for goal shot wise
Was brought in at a time where we had all of our strikers injured and did a very respectable job, if anything was unlucky not be given more game time.
I think if you give him plenty of runners and more starts there’s 15+ goals a season in him, surprised Maidstone chose Alabi over bringing him back."

Said many times we where never going to get Neil or lopta back.sheff Utd want them in the EFL for there next step.If we where in the EFL he would have come to us.But good look to Neil did very well for us one of the main reason we stayed in this league.
Harrison Neal signed for Barrow on year long loan. He deserves a better move than that personally.
The two goals he scored last season for them were of high quality too and chances he made for himself rather than chances gifted through great crossing or passing.Thoughts from a Dagger on Ibby Akanbi:

Well, a few posters on here were recently criticising Dalby for not being greedy enough.Took his goal really well tonight and also won a penalty I think. Held the ball up well but was a little greedy at times, but guess he was trying to impress. His goal certainly did that
He Scored one right? The two goals he scored last season for them were of high quality too and chances he made for himself rather than chances gifted through great crossing or passing.
Ah yes, forgot you were the Oracle.Said many times we where never going to get Neil or lopta back.sheff Utd want them in the EFL for there next step.If we where in the EFL he would have come to us.But good look to Neil did very well for us one of the main reason we stayed in this league.
Is talk of Cheek and Kelly still wide of the mark? Any other names floating about? The two trialists from the Canvey game surely can't be the only strikers on the radar, with both Murphy and Cardwell still doubtful. One last 'statement' signing incoming??Talk of Cheek and Kelly I think is wide of the mark.
There is a more obvious candidate at Maidstone who has been a target of John Still previously when he was at Barnet. 18 in 27 in NLS returning from an injury, under contract as an extension was triggered. Local boy as well I think. Jack Barham. Been mentioned on here before I think. Has played and scored in the NL.
Can imagine if Maidstone started by quoting 100k that will have come as quite a surprise. We were probably in our now more normal 25-40k plus sell on mode..
Anyway that would be my guess.
They are not the only 2 strikers we are looking atIs talk of Cheek and Kelly still wide of the mark? Any other names floating about? I don't think talk is entirely wide of the mark. No smoke without fire and all that. We shall see. Would be nice if we can pull off one more statement signing. Is talk of Cheek and Kelly still wide of the mark? Any other names floating about? You would imagine they will look at style of play (given that will be crucial to development) and you could argue a season/ half season in a side playing good football chasing promotion will deliver more than a L2 relegation dog fight. Without being unkind to Barrow it probably shows how little say the player gets... Probably also hints at how they have managed to hack off Lopata so royally..Ah yes, forgot you were the Oracle.
My take away from this is that the people at Sheff Utd don't know much about the levels below them. I'm disappointed to see HN go to Barrow. Much of L2 is barely, if any, step up from much of the VNL. If they want to see Neal progress this season then he really needed L1 football.
