Pretty much all of the rumours lead me to believe it’s Josh Kelly.

He would be an excellent signing, and perhaps another striker too? Cheek and Kelly? Surely not…
Would be very happy with Kelly. If we were quoted 100k the issue would be that this would not be unreasonable given his age and potential. And wanting and paying are different things. Maybe a compromise can be reached- lot will depend on the players attitude and who else is in the hunt. Not optimistic..

I would personally highly doubt we would be going for 2 strikers.

With two already out, we only have Dalby as a CF. How about signing one striker with a track record in this division and one with considerable promise from the lower, lower leagues (a gamble that could pay off). I would take that. At this level you can't afford to be too precious about signings. If we sell Dalby, that's good we've made some money. We need to do that. If Cardwell stays injured, that's a shame but he didn't cost much anyway. We move on. If he gets fit but can't get in the team because another striker is doing the business, that's a shame too but as long as the team is succesful that's all that matters. Likewise with Murphy, if he gets fit but remains benched or loaned out while our other strikers are doing the business I wouldn't lose any sleep about it.
