Absolutely agree. Had we been promoted last year and were back in league two, I think we’d probably be top of his list. But he’s proven he’s more than capable at our level and I agree he seems a really ambitious lad, so I think he’ll have his sights set higher unfortunately.
Agree unlikely however…he may view us as a brilliant opportunity. Guaranteed starter, potential captain (at a very young age), good shop window being on BT sport, knows management team and fans already worship him.

Dropping down for one season could see him jump up to a League One club a lot quicker than sitting on bench for a club higher up or in the youth for Sheffield.

Or I could be talking absolute nonsense…!

It looks like Callum Powell is stirring it up a bit with him on Instagram, are we in a weird situation where we are tapping up a championship player as a non league team?

Also a very good point!

Wouldn’t surprise me if C. Powell been chatting to him in private about coming to us. I bet KL want to come back to an club he knows well and he enjoyed a lot.

Wealdstone have signed Max Kretzschmar. That’s another one that can be removed from the list.

No one care, he probably care about working 4 days a week at his job, plus paying football, no ambition as he will get relegated next season with Dagenham!

Wrexham have just signed Elliott Lee, thought we might have had another look?

He has said the ambition, lead him to sign despite several offers from EFL clubs. I can only imagine the club have misquoted him when he said, money was the reason for him signing… I don’t think a) we were ever in for him, or b) could even begin to compete with what he was being offered…

Wealdstone signing Lewis Kinsella and Kretzschmar is extremely surprising. Two very decent signings for them.

To be fair Wrexham do have ambition, the problem is they're going about it the wrong way so they may not actually meet those ambitions.

Why are they going the wrong way about it? Let's be honest if it was us in Wrexham position we would be loving those signings.
Football history is littered with clubs throwing money at promotion attempts and coming unstuck. Players tempted from higher levels with wads of cash, who were perhaps not the best at those higher levels but look at bit shiny at the level of the club throwing money around.

Of course it can work - anything might work - but for me the smart approach is to use those funds to get the very best players you can for the level you’re at, who are on the way up and have something to prove.

Players dropping down levels for big paydays aren’t always like that but do inspire every team they play to want to stuff them on the pitch. Look at Dover’s performance at the Racecourse last year.

An example might be to compare what Fat Baz Fry did with us with what he went on to do with Birmingham. Only one of those two teams he built ever looked like it might do something and it was us with smart, modest signings not big flashy Billy big bollocks signings.

If it was me I know which strategy I’d follow and I think that’s what southendkid was getting at.

Reminds me of the Phil Brown days 🥶

Wrexham approach is probably the best way to get out of this graveyard of a league....... there approach would of come off last season if they didn't have stockport in this league. Another club who weren't shy to spend and I think stockport will go up again. Of course it isn't all about spending the big bucks, but when your in league where its only 1 automatic spot it half bloudy helps.

Stockport were rich but they weren't Wrexham rich, the difference is Stockport made good signings across the board, meanwhile Wrexham conceded 5 to Dover and had to rely on their firepower to win. Maybe they've learnt their lesson but last season it felt like they went for big names rather than building a good team.
