You only have to look at his Instagram in recent weeks to see he clearly wants out. Looks like a bit of a stand off situation, which is a real shame for him.

Hopefully something can get resolved and/or we can get him back. Wishful thinking maybe, but I suspect we will certainly try.

I got a bit of hope out of that, if he's not with their first team but training with their U23's, I do wonder if we could get a cheeky bid in there of £50k-£100k with 20-25% sell on, Sheff Utd may go for it as they know he'll perform well with us and increase his value further for the sell on, and better than letting him rot away in their U23's.

Ambitious thinking maybe, but a slither of hope.

Very interesting. He seems to have decided 1. He wants to be playing proper football every week (so requires loan or transfer) 2. He has worked out if he signs a new contract he loses options about where that next move might be as his £ goes up (in Sheff interests but not his).

If a club he wants to sign for makes a sufficient offer in terms of up front £ and add ons he will be off. If Sheff aren't going to put him in the first team its a waste of everyones time him have-ing 6 month or a year in their u23s and going for nothing.

Can he move to us? Well on one hand it would be way more £ than we have spent in recent seasons on a fee, but we might get away with instalments and add ons/sell ons and we all know he will go up in value so it makes financial sense (BUT if we don't have the £ to begin with its meaningless, and he might want to be in the EFL).

Doesn't he also have a local girlfriend? Thought he did whilst he was here- maybe no more, I don't stalk him :-)

I'm not a fan of censorship but @Nonleague_expert would not be missed if he went away.
if you want to censor people Or do pile ons it just restricts diverse thoughts and free speech, if anyone finds a particular posters comments and their opinions disagreeable then surely just ignoring them should suffice imo
Ps wheres Wiggy haven't seen any doom laden posts for a while , but what if he's....right ha ha only joking..

I half expect the Twitter account for daft fan transfer talk to be the same members posting the comments on the our site

He has a deal with Norwich until 2024 and we don't need a GK
Colin is nowhere near ready for the first team.
Therefore, a loan away and some competition for Arnie is most welcome. Let's not also forget that Arnie does historically miss some of the season with injury, so we need a backup keeper that can come in and play and be up to the required standard.

I agree. Never been a fan of having 3 keepers, just a waste of wage. Prefer the 2 keeper model.

I know it could be used to let Colin go out on loan and get games, but he could have games with the B team plus FA trophy. Then if needed when Arnie has a niggle. He's been fantastic everytime I've seen him, Colin.

He was obviously happy here and would, I am sure, get regular first team football. Can we afford him without breaking the budget and upsetting others - I don't know ? I have no doubt he will have other options offered to him but would love to see him back at Roots Hall.

🟢 Page 1 updated to include Jon McCraken, who is currently training with us as per the Echo.

But how many times last season did we not name a keeper on the bench? It just seems a strange one. If anything were to happen to Steeeeve then you use the emergency loan system if needs be 🤷‍♂️

Emergency loans not needed as there is no transfer window close in NL iirc.
But Collin needs games to get expand develop competitively.
The defence also needs to know the GK, or replacement GK if needed, and visa versa him them if they are to be most effective as a unit?
