Let’s hope Lomas becomes available as otherwise, if say Kensdale gets injured, we won’t have a defence- forget 352 we won’t even have two CBs for a 442..

Lomas doesn’t want to be here and as far as I’m aware hasn’t returned to training, maybe @BoyWonder2 can confirm?

Slim chance he’ll play for us ever again, is how I’ve heard it.

Lomas wants out, as does Mooney.

I highly doubt we’ll see either in a Southend United shirt again unfortunately. If that does prove to be the case, we just have Kensdale as a central defender under a full time contract.

We'll miss Lomas, as for Mooney, not so much. But I suppose beggars can't be choosers and every player lost is one that can't be properly replaced.

I still don’t think we’ve seen the best of/got the best out of him. But if he wants to go .. let him go as we need everyone united given what a ****show this season is looking like turning into.

Lomas will be a big miss in my opinion. I don’t think we saw the best of him, but he was the perfect Hobson replacement. I’m pretty certain that was the plan all along.

As for Mooney, again, we never saw the best of him. For Altrincham, he was outstanding, the young player of the year in the National League. He had two main problems here, one was he never really settled into the area, he loved the group etc etc and coped as best as he could with the off the field nonsense.

His second was Maher’s switch from 3-4-3 to 3-5-2. Mooney is best playing in one of the wide forward roles, I believe it was the left for Altrincham but could be wrong. He isn’t suited to a “10” which Kev tried, and certainly doesn’t do enough of the ugly side of the game to play as a wing back. Bridge does more defensive work than Mooney would, but then two at wing backs would be exposed again and again.

I wish Mooney the best elsewhere if, as expected, he does leave. Just hasn’t worked out for him, but wouldn’t surprise me at all to see him hit the ground running somewhere else.

Absolutely, this.

Can we unregister them in order to register others?

I don’t know the full ins and outs about that to be honest.

In an ideal world we would be able to unregister them and get Bridge & Ralph tied down to contracts and register them, but I believe the embargo prevents that.

You’d think, after being under one for 10 months now, and having as many as we’ve had recently, we’d be experts in embargoes.

Will Bridge and Ralph be able to play against Oldham? Did we get dispensation to offer them new contract/take up contract option? Really an embargo shouldn’t stop existing players getting new contracts IMHO- certainly not taking up options in existing contract. Why should they be punished. Completely understand re bring new players in.
I thought that they could sign on a non contract basis as we had less than 16 players but I’m far from an expert on it all. I hope they sign, I love Bridge and think Ralph has earned himself a contract with us for sure, although he does have the odd mistake in him (who doesn’t at this level).

Anna Firth tweeted earlier that we still need a safety certificate for the stadium, I assumed this had been completed as part of the license the National League have given us. Can anyone clarify this please?
