It would be a town planners’ nightmare blocking the A127 on match days.

You'd need to allow space for ingress/egress, a perimeter, etc, etc, etc, would be extremely limiting and not very future-proof. A wider-scale redevelopment would make it a great site for us yes (but very expensive!)

All good points. The estimation a few years back for nocking down this tower blocks and replacing them with lower level flats was £500m. Swap the RH site and possibly FF for the Queensway. Council could build more homes and we would have a City centre stadium.

The biggest problem is not enough space or the cost. Its politicians and Nimbys. Many of those will do anything to block such scheme. We even have some posting on this thread

Not for much longer there won't be if things carry on as they are! At least there's one Southend business with a less sustainable business model than Southend United

Kurssaal site is sadly too small

Exactly, and this is why everything has gone quiet and the information available is being kept offline. I think you’ll find there has been a couple who have got close but RM striked again!

Being very old I thought the following link might help for those not knowing about Len Forge. He was quite the man in promoting local amateur football and creating what we knew as Eastwoobury Lane but is now the Len Forge Centre. I've a feeling he was given the Freedom of Southend. Praise indeed. He was a terrific bloke and as well as setting up the whole thing still had time to ref a hell of a lot of games.
