TBF I thought the optimistic end was a couple of weeks DD with both parties committed to making it happen (and probably unduly hopeful in hindsight as one of the parties is Ron) and we have just reached that point today? It’s only been a couple of weeks of DD - it’s just feels like s lot more…

Apparently not, as no exclusivity was granted till this week according to many ITK sources. Think it’s time to batten down the hatches and ignore everything until it’s done or not. Airplane mode.

Chris phillips isn't great journalists in my opinion so wouldn't believe everything he writes. What are you on? Chris Phillips is a fantastic journalist. He may get the occasional thing incorrect but that doesn’t mean that it was incorrect when he typed it as things change quickly sometimes.

Would be interesting to see how a really great local reporter, the late Alf Smirk, would have reported on this situation. I feel sure he wouldn’t have taken any prisoners.

Can't agree with you. He is someone that cares, works harder than most and is relatable. Without CP, we wouldn't hear anything. Your comments are, I feel, worthy of retraction.

Couldn’t agree more- what he does single handed on the sports desk even without getting into his charity support for causes such as MIND. There are plenty who give journalism a bad name. Chris Phillips does the opposite..

You have a username about being SUFC for life but have long openly admitted to not going anymore because Southend aren't very good. I'm all for people having an opinion but yours must be bottom of the pile for validity.

To be fair mate, we have lost Hyde (who wasn't ours) Murphy who we wouldn't wanna keep. Hobson who was gonna go anyway. And then Steve who if rumours are true we wanna replace anyway..

Football all about opinions...... whether that's how good or bad the chairman is, should we sign xyz, as in my case not rating the local journalist. I'm sure we can all agree on is Ron time is up! Let's hope the takeover happens soon and we can get back to normality by cheering on the mighty shrimpers back at the hall in August.

If the money is not found by the 12th of july we wont have a club And if that man is to contiue to run our club into the ground .Maybe if no buyer is found maybe Adminitratin may be the only answer to get rid of him .
