SUFC: The Future SUFC up for sale

As I see it, it looks as if Ron will definitely sell, the date when the sale goes through none of us know. In any sale be it a business a house or even a job offer new people can show an interest right at the last minute before you sign off the deal with the original interested party. If this supposed second party looks more appealing to Ron then of course he will consider it. You never know, a third group may pop up at anytime. This could rumble on as long as the court and the NL are kept on board it should be achievable. The downside of course is the poor staff still waiting to be paid and the playing and coaching staff living in no man's land. The sooner we see the end of Ron's reign the better.

I think the issue here with the panic is that the last 6 or 7 seasons have been utterly depressing with relegation’s, embargo’s, players and staff not being paid, court cases etc and a couple of weeks ago there was a chink of light at the end of a very long dark tunnel.

After just missing out on the play off’s last season, the thought of having another season disrupted by players leaving, embargoes at the start, missing out on targets, possibly the management team having enough and leaving, meaning another season of struggle and a survival is too much for people to take.

I for one, was full of optimism when the sale was expected soon, thinking that at the very least we should have some investment and at least make the play offs.

We will be within the top 2 or 3 in terms of support next season in this division, if not the best, and the one of the biggest in terms of income and should be able to attract the best players at this level now that Wrexham and Notts County have gone. Obviously the Ron factor completely negates that.

The thought of this sale not going through, or still being unsure if the club will survive on July 12th is messing with a lot of peoples mental health.

“Nothing is ever as good, or as bad, as it seems”

Life lesson that might be useful for most on here.
Precisely.

Social media in particular has polarised everything in life, including this forum, leading to this hysteria where we're either on the precipice of being sold, or the buyers have pulled out and we're going bust - the reality being somewhere in the middle.

A dose of good sense wouldn't go amiss from all.

Your choice to be unsettled, my choice to tell the truth. I am sorry i have upset and offended you.
Could I counter that you're the one who was becoming unsettled by the lack of communication and (perhaps) acted a little irrationally? (Feel free to ban me for questioning you - I've tried to do it as politely as I can!) That said, the new thread title is sensible because it is very neutral.

However, is it possible you know something, but aren't able to say?

If anyone wants something positive - Simon Jackson's last post on Instagram is still the SUFC badge. This time it hasn't been removed.

Tensions are high! And rightly so, it a tough time for the club.

But I've said it a couple of times now, this process was always going to be long and the "ITK" posts saying it will "Be done this week" have really caused alot of stress.

The looming deadline of July 12th is all we have to care about and aslong as things are done by then we are happy.

Players will come and go and targets will always get missed but we should remain confident that once the sale is complete, we should have enough quality in the team to be comfortable next season

Just worth considering that things might get a little bit worse before they get better. Key players and coaches could leave but we will be in a better long term place.

UP THE BLUES 💙💙💙💙

We all need to take a chill pill on here!? We don`t need to start a bun fight between posters, and let the process run it`s course. After 20 odd years of Martin at the helm, I would be carrying out an extensive amount of DD as I possibly could. They need to be very thorough with no stone unturned. I`m sure once that has been completed, then the news will follow, allowing us to get our club back, communication will be better, staff and players will be paid promptly, no more annual visits to HMRC and late payments. So, be patient, let the process unwind, enjoy the sun and wait for the outcome. Fingers crossed and good luck to us all.

I see Wolfy's latest tweet being cryptic and confusing. Either its now a 3 horse race or into the final furlong going by the guesses of his followers

Unfortunately the mods decide, without impunity, to change the title of this thread. Their prerogative of course but not particularly helpful.
Absolutely. I started this thread and the mods have repeatedly changed its title without extending me the courtesy of seeking my permission. This is unacceptable. I demand that this thread should revert to my original title, whatever it was - it seems a lifetime ago. Oh yes, it was something like "Roots Hall at 3pm." Now that would really take the Zone into meltdown!
PS Just in case anyone thinks I'm being serious in these nervous, tetchy times perhaps I ought to point out that I am being flippant and couldn't give a toss what it's called or if its changed by anybody.
