So does anyone have an idea what the plans may be? I know Chris Phillips was getting excited about them on twitter. It seems Kimura have access to funds, and are run by local lads, but what’s the plan for the club as a whole?

I would imagine 95% of blues fans would share Wolfy’s view here. We know nothing or very little about these potential new owners. That’s not being negative. All we have is a sense that they can’t be worse that Ron. Well, we are going down if Ron stays so that much is probably true. For me the rumours about Winstone and the Rock are a bit gimmicky really, but obviously they could be just that, unfounded rumours. My hope is for new owners who manage the finances sensibly, invest when and where they can, but stay largely in the background, letting the football people at the club do their work.

That Wolfy bloke on Twitter has made some comments which does take the wind slightly out of the sails of the relentless optimism, specifically regarding his concern over the new owner’s intentions and financial abilities. I have no idea how reliable and connected this guy is but it’s a different viewpoint to Matt Slater and Chris Phillip’s previous comments about the takeover.
They might not have loads of money but still more money than Ron

All i care about is they have SUFC in their blood like most supporters here, can put the club on a stable and safe footing ,with no more embargoes a decent budget for TL and company ,players and staff and local businesses etc paid on time and the old lady ( RH ) given a makeover .,so when the time comes we can bid her Bon Voyage, never to be forgotten. She has been family to all of us now for coming on 71 years i think ( 1952).Also like to think the last game played there could feature in some way all the living legends you have all witnessed grace her playing field. IT WILL BE A VERY SAD DAY !!!!

Reading the tweets ‘Wolfy’ doesn’t seem 100% sure about finances on the Kimura side. Just expressing personal opinion based on what they know. I think just saying don’t expect another Wrexham here..but expect an improvement.

Personally I don’t care if the new owners aren’t investing silly amounts. A sensible and realistic business model, staff/HMRC paid, academy kept, Roots Hall at least given a spruce up..that’d do me for starters. Plus of course the football department being able to operate without embargoes!

I personally don’t think it’s about the financial muscle, because I believe they have it, I think it’s how the money is made. Hedge funds are very risky, you can make a lot of money but you can also lose a lot of money. But saying that, they’ve been doing it a while and I’m sure they’re good at what they do and I do not think that if they ever needed to seek and investment, they would have any trouble.

I agree

Rather a smart, sustainable club than run irresponsibly

I wouldn’t take what this guy says too seriously. Matt Slater, in particular, is very knowledgeable about football takeovers and finance. And clearly does have an inside track.

And I’m pretty sure to the extent “Wolfy” knows stuff it doesn’t extend to who Kimura have on board as investors, corporate or individual, in the background.
