Ron is a lot of things, but he isn't stupid. What you suggest here, that he is deliberately setting Sturrock up to take the blame for not bringing in players, makes very little sense. RM knows (as we all should) that Sturrock gaining success on the field is almost as important for the future existence of this club as moving to Fossets. He is the last person RM would want to upset.

Not at all. I think he has perhaps bought himself a little time to sort things, that need to be sorted.

Possibly the most confusing statement ever. "I want to tell you whats going on but basically I am going to tell you nothing".

Sturrock Jnr seems to have a fairly low opinion of someone.

The letter before S and the letter after L put them together and what have you got #worstpersonimaginable #liar #poison #douchebag #acid
What does that tell us?...............................that he's not coming back to play for us again anytime soon. :winking:

Doesn't tell us much, other than when we can expect to hear more (later this week), that when we hear it it's likely to be positive (new CEO?).

The only other thing we know from that is what will be on one of the pages of the programme tonight.

Clearly, with so much intense interest in the future of the club, some developments cannot be disclosed for fear of putting a spanner in the works. But the more there's utter silence about developments at the top, the more people grow suspicious. It's just one more of those damned if you do, damned if you don't scenarios, and communication is not the only one that Ron is in. The other main one is paying bills.

Gary said he left because he didn't have time to do the job required. Good news on the CEO front could be as simple as finding someone who HAS got time to do it.

In the mean time, let's worry about what we CAN make a difference with, and that's noise tonight. Positive noise, the stuff that cheers the lads on, puffs their chests out and gives them an extra yard of pace.

Afraid I can't go, work is too heavy this week. But give them a bloody good shout from me!

Well i'm well up for a shout tonight!Still wearing rose tinted glasses, still waiting for the good news to actually happen.Still supporting paul sturrock and the team.

Sturrock has done really well AGAIN this season and deserves everyone's support - as do the team - COYB !!!!

Well, I read that statement and interpreted the following.

1 - There was an acknowledgement that communication with the fans had been poor and that it would change in future. I suppose that bearing in mind no-one actually believes what he says anyway then that is maybe a questionable benefit. But then we can't have it all ways; everyone has been crying out for information so we should at least appreciate what we do get.

Agreed.

2 - There are positive, exciting changes going on and changes in the behind the scenes management due to be announced. I guess this relates to an appointment of a new CEO or similar. I really don't think that a positive and exciting change would be to announce the departure of many backroom staff.

Agreed, but personally I don't see the appointment of a new Chief Exec as exciting. If that is all he's talking about then I am about to be completely underwhelmed.

3 - The embargo must have been or is just about to be lifted otherwise there is no point in saying Luggy can get players in as soon as he identifies them. He just wouldn't say anything.

He's never publicly acknowledged that we are under an embargo. This is just a continuation of that facade.

4 - There are veiled hints that FF is inching towards completion, with the "line of sight" growing ever clearer and with us "gearing up to move to the new stadium".
The problem here is that we've heard it all before. There have been so many missed deadlines that anything he says now has to be taken with a huge cellar of salt.

In relation to 3, Ron would not publicly reveal we're under an Embargo. No-one would including Gary Lockett, Tara Brady ( if he was here) and nor Paul Sturrock. The Echo revealed we were in an embargo. They wouldn't have reported it in the way they did if they were unsure.
