Ron Martin to leave after multi million pound buy out from Russian oil tycoon, who wants Southend as his plaything. He sees the pier as the perfect place to land cargo or run an oil pipe to shore...etc, etc, etc.

So, what was the exciting news?

I think Ron classed his own address as an announcement in general. The two other announcements being Kavanagh's appointment and Mohsni Going to Ipswich. Maybe Ron hoped we'd see Mohsni going as the "exciting" news. Getting him off the wage bill ? and vith a view to getting money for him in Jan?

Mohsni finally signing for someone is technically an announcement. Originally it was Will he or Won't he or whats he up to, So an announcement came that he actually has now signed for someone else, albeit briefly as things stand.

Ok but then 1 announcement was made (SK). Ron said announcementS so does this come under a lie?

Again this obsession with lies. The statement was so vague and without any facts nothing can be classed as lies.

The comment regarding announcements was :
'There will be further announcements this week, which surround behind the scenes management as we gear up to move to the new stadium.'

So no it wont be Mohsni, and it could have just been the CEO position, despite the plural.

It comes under 'watch this space'. Much to be cheerful about in the pipeline.

For someone who criticises others for reading between the lines without 'facts' thats hypocrisy at its finest.

The senior management thing was the new CEO and maybe the new boss in the ticket office he he. As foe bearing to to move to the new stadium this came under the CEO appointment which will assist him in driving this home but then Tara and Gary were in this category and look what happened there. Gearing up means nothing and the sort of comment thats been made for years. But I guess tomorrow nigjht could be interesting.

It would be churlish of me to descend to the level of your statement. I am not given to making statements on here as well you know and I would not be foolish enough to post such a statement without facts. The source of those facts is remaining anonymous.

Well, if that was it then that was nothing along the lines of what I was hoping for/expecting.

I was certainly hoping for news re the stadium and by all accounts Ron has been discussing the last hurdles from what Ive heard, I did get my hopes up that this meant a big announcement last week. Maybe it is close, and if it is almost close he will certainly be waiting for every part of the mythical jigsaw to be in place before making that announcement.

All we can do is hope.

Who really expected an 'exciting announcement'?

The man is saying these things to try and keep the 'Martin out' chants away. It gets under his skin.

For the past 3 years there should of been a chorus of anti Ron chants around the stadium. He has got away with this far too long.

All those who said 'let's wait' last time have been proved well and truly wrong.
