Sainsburys are basically paying for the 3 sides so we have a stadium aren't they? so they can build on RH, but won't pay for the main stand hence the need for outside investment for that. And why would anyone else want to help us build the other 3 sides when all they will be used for is football?

As it stands Sainsbury's will be building 3 sides of the stadium, which is of course no use to them apart from freeing up the RH site. Would it hurt to just build 1 or 2 sides including the main stand, and the money from those stands (such as rent charged for a hotel chain) can pay for the rest.

It all depends on how far Sainsbury's are keen to go and it doesn't make as much commercial sense for them (they don't want to be building hotels etc), but it would certainly benefit our football club and more importantly our cashflow.

Makes sense to me,Or better still let Sainsbury pay for a more modest stadium such as 4000 seat main stand with opposite seated stand holding 5000 then leave Behring both goals open terrace until such times when the club are able to afford building seated stands,This gives the club a chance of paying their way.

Or just have them as Safe Standing anyway

A little question for all those putting blind faith and hope in Martin....

Whatever happened to that taxbill that we supposedly had already paid (because we overpaid the previous bill) ???

you know the one I mean, when Saint Ron, told us it was all a misunderstanding & the winding up order we faced at the time (about the second one after a judge had warned us with liquidation) would all be sorted and proved that the mighty SUFC lawyers were in the right & HMRC were in the wrong. Remember that one?

What happened there?

Blind faith & hope? Haha :hilarious:

Does anyone have a link for the 3 sided stadium pictures?

Ps Ron don't you think a public address is order so that you can let us know your plans for our football club.

In 1966 a new two-tiered Bramall Lane Stand opened, but due to the fact that the ground was still being used for cricket matches, the stadium had a rather odd shape with a pitch about double the width of a standard football pitch. This meant in practice that one side of the stadium was just an empty field with the cricket pavilion in the back.
This finally changed in 1975 when a new South Stand was built on the cricket pitch. From then on Bramall Lane was a proper football stadium.

For Bramall Lane read Fossetts Farm? :omg:

Blimey I have a headache reading all this.
As stated by previous posters on here the real jewel here is ROOTS HALL and the land it sits on. What is even more heartbreaking is the fact that this ground orginally was brought by the supporters

It all depends on what you put blind faith in. All I know is that for year upon year people have come on this forum and stated that RM is skint, the club is close to folding, RM cannot provide the FF development and yet year upon year RM has kept the club going, RM has more than supported the playing side and been rewarded with dross performances and RM is the only chairman in my lifetime that has got us this close to a green light on a new stadium plan.

The doom merchants question the credibility of RM and yet it is their own credibility that is taking the biggest knock. There is blind faith that people on here have so much as a clue of what RM can or can't deliver and much of that faith errs on the side of can't.

Whatever happens, managers mess up, players play like sh*te or no onions in the burgers and many blame RM. I expect he is responsible for the downturn in the world economy, the threat from N. Korea and the crime rate in Boston. I am not suggesting he has made no mistakes, everyone does, but the unsubstantiated tripe on here is too often mindblowing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but many of the levelled allegations and assumptions have thus far been proved wrong. We are still going as a club and have the chance to build FF. The main man deserves credit for that much alone.

That is the saddest part of the whole thing Jacks.

Blackpool - Their main stand (West) was constructed along with the two behind the goal stands. The temporary stand you are referring to is not the main stand and has just been made bigger.

Point of Order...Their main stand and ONE goal stand were built, and temporary (very!) seating put down one side. So they started with only two stands.

Ok, but my point remains. They built their main stand first.

:raspberry:

Yep Roots Hall is definitely the big cash cow. Still trying to get my head round a big hotel chain coming aboard and spending tens of millions on building not only the their own hotel but also a big shiny new stand etc and then accepting that despite paying for it to be built they would have to then pay rent to RM, SUFC or A.N Other management co (delete as applicable) for the privilege of doing so.

Kind of agree, he has backed the former manager with big names for a league two club I.e Harris, Martin, Eastwood, Smith, Timlin and Cresswell. Its not all his fault that some of these turned out to be sh#t.... I also see Brown as a big name in this league....

Martin's PR is very much Basel Fawlty but he has backed some big names for a league two club and rightly expects promotion like we all do

You have lost me here Mark?

b) What rents will be coming in via the main stand and the other 3

What I mean is we don't know exactly who will own the main stand or exactly who owns the other three, what rents will be coming in, where they will be going and if any of them will come to the club.

In short we actually know naff all, except that the 3 sides are being funded by Sainsburys and the 4th isn't.

Just to clear things up for a fool like mr

1. Is this it..... .can building now commence

2. Is ron going to try and stick to his original pay plan or will sainsbury just fork out the mill and be done with it?

Ok, but my point remains. They built their main stand first.

:raspberry:

Why cant we build the main stand first then, the stand where the moneys gonna come from & then build around that, £15 million would surely be enough to build 3 stands, 1 with exec boxes etc

Why don't you just wait and see what he pulls out the bag? He has got a lot further than you ever thought he would. You were wrong yesterday when you said it would be deferred and you have been wrong previously on lots of occasions about how things would end up. I get it that you hate Martin - but maybe if you put that hatred to one side and looked at things objectively you may see things a bit differently and have a bit more hope than you clearly have at the moment. TB has gone GL has gone and neither of them found a way to remove Martin. RM is the only one who can achieve our desired goals and right now I continue to believe he will come good. He will make vast amounts of money from RH and FF and I personally believe he will see it through and deliver on the main stand. UTB.

All he has done is got us nearly 10 million in debt.

He hasnt got us anywhere yet.

I dont have any hatred towards Ron Martin, I used to be very much in his camp, but being able to look at it objectively means looking at the facts. The facts are he hasnt done anything yet. To blindly accept he will deliver the full stadium, when in 6 years he hasnt achieved anything is not being objective.

Because the main stand is more expensive because it hosts conference centre/hotel etc. and Sainsbury wont pay for that.

Build 2/3 sides inc the main stand ie Blackpool, then relocate the South Stand to FF, its a fairly new stand and could get a few more years out of it at FF maybe!!

That 10 m of debt has been the cost of keeping the club going since 1998
The RH and B&L proceeds were swallowed up by the debts inherited from the previous regime (Which were incurring interest and we were unable to service at the time and were causing the lenders to consider foreclosing)
