No way Coker starts
Why not? It's first game, gives us a bit of youthfulness and he's fit with game time. He's a better player than he's given credit for and it could be his time to shine.

Having a bench full of youngsters isn't a great option, u need a blend.

If we could get up to 5650 (so 5000 shrimpers) that would be a bloody good effort considering everything. I don’t think we will get that far, but it’s possible.

Hopefully dragging an Ipshite and Cardiff fan along with me for our rampaging 1-0 success. So 2 more to the coffers

The ONLY positive thing I am taking into tomorrow's game is the fact that our players know each other and won't have to take a bit of time tl blend like others.

Would rip your arm off for a point.

Would you go for Powell over Wood bearing in mind pre-season goal form?
That was the one position I "ummed and ahed" over - on balance went with Powell because of his greater experience and because of his loyalty this summer, would expect Wood to come on though.

Could easily be the other way around though.

I think if we had sales on the day we may well have achieved that but think we'll be a bit short now. Reckon the total crowd will be 5000 (plus or minus 100).

All things considered that's not half bad

Would certainly be a brave choice to drop the two most impressive players from pre-season.

The formation change is interesting. It’s effectively the same players so with the way teams shift shape these days it might not be as crazy as it would otherwise seem to change from the shape the team has set up throughout pre-season. The question is then would your 4-3-3 actually change the 3-2-5 shape in the final third in possession, the 4-4-2 in mid-block, the 5-3-2 low block etc?

@ShrimperStats has done some superb work on this and is a must read for anyone discussing formations

A couple or a little threesome in the door Friday morning
Did you have any insight when you posted this mate? Anything still looking likely? Or was this more a hope than based on verified info? Just wondering whether my tiny thread of hope is worth hanging on to lol.

Whatever the answer is please don’t all pile in criticising Dubai, we’ve all had more than enough of that this week!

Not really sure why people think we’ll get absolutely battered?

I get the lack of squad, but IF we get no injuries on the day then that first 11 is a competitive side.

We might slip to a loss but doubt they’ll be ripping through us at will?
Ever played 2 preseason games and went on strike for 10 days you can’t even have a **** or shower at our training grounds .. we’ve prepared like a Sunday league team regardless of the boring narrative that our first 11 is on ( of which it’s not )
