The fact that no one here has even mentioned Adam King yet says a lot about what a poor signing he has been

Feel a bit sorry for him, he's only 20 and this is clearly a step too far for him at the moment. He'd have done better off in L2.

Spoke to Nile on Saturday who said feeling good but not ready for Tuesday but
raring to go on Saturday so in the usual manner will probably start against orient

Aren't we meant to play 6 of our starting 11 from the previous match or was that rule scrapped with the new format?

Also whats happened to Jack Bridge lately? is he injured? I can't even recall seeing him named on the sub bench for quite a while. I thought he put in some ok performances when he did have some pitch time.

Think so, or we're fined £5k.

Smith

Coker - Inniss - Sokolik - Thompson - O'Neill

Cotton - Leonard - Wordsworth - McGlashan

Cox - Fortune

Something like that?

Coker on the right and O'Neil on the left, yep that would work:thumbsup:

Best kept well out of the side. Got shot down by Rigsby for suggesting he was not up to it. I'm glad PB agrees and dropped him. The midfield has been so much better without him.

He was at the game yesterday, chatting with Ranger and Williams.

Think he might feature on Tuesday in Wordy's role.

That's good news. For both Jack and Wordsworth.

PB did say in the post match interview that ideally he wanted to rest about 3-4 players for the Posh game, but couldn't afford to risk it for an important league game. So with that in mind, I think Phil will make a considerable difference in the starting 11 against B'Orient (to some extent anyway...and then bring on some of the more experienced players, if its going pear shaped).

I tried to find some info on the rules for the competition, but it's all a bit vague.

The only thing seems to be that all league sides, rather than invited ones, have to field at least "5 first team players", but how that's defined is anyone's guess :-

Players

In all rounds of the Competition a player shall be a “registered player” of his Club.

For the EFL Clubs, a registered player is one who would be registered and eligible to participate in a match in the League Competition for that EFL Club commencing at the same time and on the same date as the Match in accordance with the provisions of the Regulations.

Each EFL Club shall play its full available strength in and during all Matches. EFL Clubs – a minimum of 5 ‘First Team’ players in the starting 11 as defined under the competition’s existing rules.

The League will from time to time issue a policy as to what constitutes 'full available strength'. Any Club failing to meet this requirement will be required to pay a fine of up to £5,000.

For the Invited Clubs, a registered player is one who would be registered and eligible to participate in a Premier League and/or Premier League 2 match commencing at the same time and on the same date as the Match in accordance with the provisions of the relevant Premier League rules.

Each Invited Club must ensure that in each Match at least 6 of the starting eleven players named on the Team Sheet are players who were aged under 21 as at the 30th June in the year in which the Season concerned commenced.

The restrictions set out in Regulation 52.4 shall apply (number of loan Players on a Team Sheet) to all Clubs as if set out herein.

Players registered on a temporary basis will be eligible to play unless the loaning Club (or club) expressly indicates it does not consent as part of the applicable loan agreement.

No Player may play for more than one Club in the Competition in any one Season.

I may be wrong (nothing new there) but I thought it was in the following match rather than previous match .... so that affects our team for mighty Rochdale.
The old JPT rules were that it was both matches.
So it had to be 6 of the team that played in the last match or 6 of the team that were going to play in the next match. There was also another rule that you could include as one of the 6, a player that hadn't played in the last match but was one of your most used players. So that covered players that had maybe been injured or coming back from suspension.

I'm not sure if the rules have been changed for the EFL Trophy?
