Good news on the CB front so....

...............oxley
Demetriou Anton kiernan hendrie

Kightly lenny yearwood macca
................cox maf
Maybe timlin in for yearwood I suspect tango man may do.

Oxley
Dimi Kiernan Anton Hendrie
Kightly Leonard Tims McLaughlin
Cox Fortune

That's the team for me.

My expectation too ! Would only say that possible Dru in for Timlin, but knowing PB he won't risk it !

Really excited about Saturday now! Looking good for 10k in da Hall !

I'm wondering if we might see young Yearwood in the middle with Timlin on the left.

I think ordinarily Browny would like to have 3 "holding" midfielders in the team but his options are limited - and MacL is quite good at getting back ........... or tell MacL and Kights that only 1 of you can bomb up the wing at any one time.

I don't think it will be much, if any, different from your 11; possibly Dru for Tims, or Dru instead of McL, or Theo instead of McL.
The best thing ought to be that Anton is not a full time hamstring worry to keep a sub spare for and that Phil will have a really useful bench with options for a real Plan B.

For me it would be:

Oxley
Demetriou, Kiernan, Ferdinand, Hendrie
Kightly, Leonard, Yearwood, McLaughlin
Cox, Fortune

Timlin might have more experience than Yearwood, but the young lad has been mustard in pre-season. If we're going to have competition for places then you have to reward good performances, regardless of age. If you're good enough, you're old enough.

I'd still go with White at CB, Kiernan has barely trained let alone played this summer and after such a long drawn out saga and for a player we've now paid a fee for you don't want him to come in and have a stinker due to ring rust

Fair point. I guess it all depends on what kind of pre-season he's had. If he's been training with the under-20's and got two or three 90 minutes under his belt in under-20's training matches etc. then he might be alright. If he's just been training then he'll be completely lacking in match fitness and it might be wise to start White instead. I really rate White at centre back anyway so there's definitely no pressure to force Kiernan into the mix straight away.

7000 home tickets sold, with 1500 Blackburn, corporates, sales tomorrow and on the day 9,500 looking a real possibility..

I'd bet money on that. I'd imagine our team will be

Oxley
Demetriou Kiernan Ferdinand Hendrie
Leonard Yearwood Timlin Kightly (swapping wings)
Cox Fortune

start with the tight 3 in centre mid with Kightly given licence to roam

I'd rather Kiernan play with a broken leg and hangover than see White start at CB.

White is a great backup/squad player to have, but I hope he doesn't have to start a game all season.

I also expect Demitriou to kick on after a mixed season with a better midfield in front of him, and a better defence alongside him.

I don't tend to agree with you on much but I totally agree with that!

I hope Brown doesn't play safe and go for Timlin ahead of Yearwood, but I have feeling he will. Can't see Kiernan starting, although I want him too. However, as he isn't fully match fit, I expect White to start alongside Anton.

Looking further than Saturday, that back four of Demetriou - Kiernan - Ferdinand - Hendrie, looks very strong.

I like this. I think PB will go with Yearwood too, he obviously rates him highly.

See the logic, but how much game time had Anton had in the 3 months prior to PB putting him to first team action last season?
