Gonna be a very good atmosphere at the hall tomorrow. Big away support for a very good league 1 side expected to push for the title.

Let's get right behind the boys. Win lose or draw. You can't beat a throbbing hall. For the likes of kightly who played for the club in lesser times it will be his first chamce to sample the cracking support we have now.

There is a chance we could go over 10k tomorrow.

When was the last time we opened a league fixture with a gate above 10k?

Just checked. 1968 is the last time blues opened with a crowd over 10k. 10,068 against Halifax town.

We have been well above 8k numerous times and Orient opening day on 2007 there were 9800 packed into the hall.

I really hope we get the green light for the new stadium. This club has so much potential with the right facilities and pricing.

10k+ at this level can be the norm.

I'm not sure about the norm. Blackburn is one of our biggest home games all season. We were always going to get a bumper crowd.

Let's see how many turn up for Fleetwood in January if we've lost our last 3 games before making statements like that.

If we manage to average 7500 this season I think that's decent.

Just think if we get a draw this will be a good result for us. Blackburn are going to be well organised as I rate there manager.
So im going to go 1-1

I see what your saying. With a new stadium we can really push on with clever ticketing for season cards etc. Something we can't do at Roots hall.

Not sure what to expect as haven't seen much pre season football and we have a few new players.

We averaged just over 7400 last season. We got only one home crowd over 10000 - that was against Charlton on New Year's Eve.

Our last 3 home games when we were pushing for the playoffs were all over 9000. If we can make a good start and keep it up we can get some good crowds into Roots Hall.

Come on you Shrimpers!

Blackburn will be one off our hardest games all season. We are not good at home with a big crowd, its been proved again and again. So im going for 0 2 lose. But im the worst forcaster you could ever imagine. Ibet on Crisp, the first year Red Rum won the G N

there is a correlation between big crowds and mediocre results. big crowds usually come out for the games against the biggest teams, the best teams and the most local teams. it really is as simple as that. most clubs have a worse than average record in front of their biggest crowds.

Think we'll lose tomorrow (today), 0-2 or something similar, followed by a generally stuttering first 10 or so games. But once we get our best 11 out on a regular basis & assuming they gel, I think we'll do well. Play-offs should be achievable..

Yea, it's Saturday, it's match day, we've 'sold' 7295 home seats without comps and X block stats, so a good crowd for the first game of the season is due. The weather forecast for the RH post code is rain and then heavy rain showers from 15:00 hrs onwards till 20:00 hrs tonight. Yep, football's back complete with rain.

They could have as many over 30s in their side as us. Mulgrew, Ward, Whittingham, Feeney, Graham, Caddis ..............

And you can bet that the sprinklers will be going full blast and players will be slipping over and looking to change boots etc

I'm hoping that Lenny will rediscover "the lurve" for Southend once he's out there today. Big, big game today.

A starting line up of:
Oxley
Demitriou, White, Ferdinand, Hendrie
Kightly, Leonard, Timlin, McLaughlin
Cox and Fortune

10,097, 1-1 with Coxy scoring.

We have always got a result whenever I have been at RH with a big crowd off the top of my head.....draws with

Liverpool 310000
West Ham 22000
QPR 18000 after being 0-2 down
A win against Watford 15,000

Now I'll have to work out my top 10 attendances at the Hall.
