Although not there, this result was immense for us zoners, I hope we have turned the corner and can get a bit more consistant now !

Not just for Zoners but for all Southend supporters. It was a bit weird leaving the West afterwards. Obviously folk were really pleased with the result, but the ones I spoke to were really stunned that we had won.

I am only passing on what I was told. I'm not the sort of person to make things up. I won't bother next time.

FWIW, I think it was a very good team performance. Oxley was a different player today, he came for everything and won pretty much everything, We attacked as a unit and defended as a unit.

McGlashan, McLaughlin and Mooney hassled constantly, the back four, guided by Barrett did a fab job marshalling Morrison. He spend all his time pushing, pulling or whining at the ref, who was rather weak. Their number 3 should have been sent off for the knee high tackle on McGlashan but only got a yellow. Then when the 3 pulled McGlashan down again, the ref ran over getting his card out and then bottled when he realised he had already booked the 3.

Mooney, well taken goal after good work on the left and a lovely run into the box from McGlashan, lovely strike from McLaughlin and our nerves were settled by O'Neil.

10/10 for everyone today

[I wont bother next time] should not have botherd this time..............

Great result and glad to hear the players looked committed. I stayed away today, I was driving back from a wedding in Oxfordshire but was back by 1pm so could have gone but couldn't face another turgid home display. Serves me right.

A first home win in six months, a first on a Saturday since February 6th. It's great when it happens but it needs to happen much more often - my opinion on the manager does not change but credit where it's due. Delighted with the win, west ham lost and col ewe conceded a late equaliser - a great Saturday!

May I suggest you stay away more often, in future !! #badomen #just saying :winking:

My first game of the season. Was expecting the worst & almost didn't bother. So glad I did! Excellent all round performance and made a good Millwall side look average. Was a bit worried when they equalised & expected us to collapse but it never happened. I couldn't mark anyone below a 7.5, but for me Coker was just brilliant & worth 9.5 & MoM. Others who stood out were Barrett (what keeps that guy going?), Oxley, Demitriou (probably spelt wrong) Macca (for the fantastic goal) & Lenny. I know others have praised McGlashan and he didn't stop running admittedly, but I don't see much actual footballing ability there? Maybe I need to see him more often to get a fairer opinion. Also Mooney, did well for his goal, but at 2-1 he looked a bit lost up front on his own & was easily kept off the ball by their defenders. But he is what he is, and I don't want to be negative about any of them as they all gave 100% & if we keep up that level of commitment we'll be OK, possibly more when the absenties start coming back. Great afternoon!

Thats possibly the best performance at home since Millwall 4.1 in the FA Cup - which was a long time ago!! Years.
I have always stated we had the players but they werent being utilised well - well today Phil got it right. The proof will now be in the pudding if he can prove it isnt a flash in the pan. I've criticised Brown for hoofing balls up to Mooney but to be fair Mooney proved today he can actually jump. He was outstanding and great decision to play him ahead of Cox.
McGlashan was fantastic. His pace was incredible and scared the Lions back four continually.
Leonard and Atkinson had a big job to win the midfield which they did well, and the link up with the full backs was superb. Add in a solid defensive display - particularly Barrett, and a very good goalkeeping display.
I said a few weeks ago that if the home performances come, then the fans will respond and we did today.

So happy, especially seeing loads of their lot ebbing away long before the whistle.

We must take this on now to next week.

My final word on the referee. There was a spell in the first half where he simply couldnt get anything right. He was probably right to only give a yellow to Martin for the first tackle, but he clearly bottled the second one as he was going to book their player until he saw it was Martin again. Incredible turn around and one which ignited the game. It was a bit rough after that and Morison was doing his best to influence him. Canny lad. Not the worst ref we ever had but he definitely got the sending off wrong and Harris had to manage the game for him.

Not there....over the friggin' moon with the performance...players and fans....you enjoy it, with no negativity for the rest of the weekend please

I think this is the most positive set of reports I've read since Barnsley away last season, and that seems an awfully long time ago. Here's hoping that I don't have to wait as long for the next set of positive reports on a match.

Really pleased with the effort and tempo today. I even stayed behind to applaud the team off as it was well deserved. Same again next game please.

Well played to the lads. Brown went for his most senior and fit professionals and it showed. Nothing like width and pace to open up defences and bring a buzz to the home crowd. I thought Coker and Leonard were tuned in and worked hard and were pushing us forward. I listened to Brown's interview and he said that Barrattt had bawled out some of them after the sunny game. Good for him, I wonder when he will be our Manager?

Oh no the info that many have received is accurate, however if today isn't just a flash in the pan then maybe there has been some serious "air clearing" since Scunthorpe behind closed doors. If that's the case then great, if not then this result will only paper over the cracks temporarily. Hopefully the former. Great result today.

But you claimed 5 players that started last week wanted Brown out, which is why they didn't try, so why try today, that doesn't make sense!!

No need for the abuse

**** off

I've been saying for years, theres some proper wet ***** on this board mate. Ignore all that bollocks. Personally I found your post more than worthy. It seems the first home win in ages has blinded some folk.

A 3-1 win at home to a good team, is an outstanding result. No two ways about it. But this club is still rotten to the core, and a 3-1 styled wallpaper, won't fill the cracks.
